Yogi, glad your car passes its MOT and you had a lovely PB day We have a park at the bottom of our road with loads of nesting swans. The geese are always trying to drive the swans offtheir nests by swimming in from both sides of the pool when there is only one swan there

Sweet, I hope you got your errands done and not working too hard. And looking after yourself(lecture over) Hope Mr Summer has recovered too

Squiggle and El, hope you are both having a good day

May be back this evening

Hi Moonie, good to have you back.

Naughty geese! I hope the swans stand their ground.

Hope to see you back later on.

Hi Yogi. Fankoo

Usually where the one pair of swans nest is on the smaller of the two pools. About a quarter of a football with a small island in the middle. When only one swan is there on the nest. The geese will swim in from one side. The swan will leave the nest to ward them off so other geese will come in from the other side. So the swan has to swim over there then. This usually goes on until the geese get tired or the other swan comes back

They do it just to antagonize the swans Yogi not because they want the space

About 5 or 6 years ago I was walking around the park about 7-30am ish(very unusual for me) There are two pools. One very large and the smaller one mentioned above. There is a steep bank up from the larger pool smaller one and a small bridge over a waterfall. I was just going over the bridge when low and behold a swan followed some 4 or 5 cygnets and another swan behind walked in front of me. Gave me a glance and went on their way

I have piccies somewhere on one of my may memory sticks. Will have to look them out

Aww, I hope you can find the pics, I'd love to see them.

The swans in our village have been known to take their signets for a walk through the village - with a trail of cars following behind them.

I will have a look Yogi

Lots of unhappy drivers then?

Moonie

Those drivers would have to slow down to avoid injuring the swans because it's a criminal offence to harm a swan.

Theoretically the Queen owns all mute swans in England and Wales.

It is extremely unlikely but a swan's outstretched wing could break someone's arm but the bone in the arm would need to be week for that to happen. Swans are only likely to ge angry if they think their cygnets are in peril.

I used to like perry mason

It's a sitcom, it's in it's final season now so we finally get to see who the "mother" is!

 I probably will be surprised.

I like so many police and crime shows, it's hard to chose a favourite. I love Miss Marple and Poirot and I also love gruesome ones like Wire In The Blood and Waking The Dead, and everything else in between.

That sounds like a good programme, I don't know how I have missed it.

I like miss marple too oh, and midsummer murders. They always remind me of my nan because she loved those shows

What are your weekend plans?

Your nan had good taste.

On Saturday, my middle son and DiL will be visiting, and I'm looking after Harv.

No plans for Sunday but if the weather is nice, hubby and I might go out and about. What do you have planned?

Edit: Sunday is Mother's Day, so at some point I'll be going over to my mum's.

Other than that, I need to do a big walk.

Keira will be happy then I saw a golden retriever on my way home from work and it made me think of you

It's a nice idea to light a candle for Mr Summer's mum, it means you are still thinking of her, and you can look forward to a good long chat with your mum on Skype.

Golden retrievers are lovely dogs, I love them!

Evening Moonie. Is the footie finished?
