Summer, according to the map El has posted, you should send your mum up to Scotland. The pollen levels are low up here, atm.

On my way home from shopping, I saw some tiny baby lambs in the fields, and some blossom on the cherry trees - Spring has sprung!

I didn't know Moonie had another migraine. I hope you feel better soon, Moonie.

Good morning everyone. It's raining atm but should dry up in the afternoon.

Summer, does Mr Summer get some sort of warning that a migraine is about to happen, or is it a sudden onset thing? I hope he is feeling better today.

Moonie, I hope your migraine has gone and you are feeling better.

On BBC Breakfast, there was a discussion about the possibility of the government making it mandatory to add folic acid to bread, in an attempt to reduce the number of babies born with spina bifida. However, it seems that extra folic acid is not good for everyone, in particular, people with a higher risk of developing colon cancer, and it can also mask the symptoms of pernicious anaemia. If it comes in, I Mr Yogi may have to start baking bread!

Have a good day everyone.

Fairly cloudy here at present, should be dry.

I hope Mr Summer's and Moonie's migraines have cleared.

Article in the Mail yesterday about the imminent decision for the compulsory addition of folic acid to bread

I'm confused! If they are going to add the folic acid to the flour, does this mean that everything made with flour will have the folic acid in it?

Squiggle, there's a reason why the proposal is for white bread.

Wholemeal and granary breads naturally contain more folic acid than white bread so there's less need to add it.

White bread 25 micrograms per 100g compared to 40 micrograms per 100g for wholemeal bread.

Yay moonie! I'm glad you feel better, welcome back

Yogi, mr summer sometimes gets a little fuzzy feeling (he calls it an aura) just before the migraine attack but other than that he has no warning and they can strike at any given moment. Had he have felt it before we left the house he could have taken medication much sooner, but he had none in his wallet and had to just suffer until we got home. Poor thing

That baby squirrel is cuuuuute

Today is SIL's birthday and I've just got word that we may be going for tea

I love wholemeal and multigrain bread, but it can upset my digestive system.

Oh that is a shame Yogi, I popped into my local shop a year or so ago and bought one of those loaves on a whim, and I love the taste.

I've been doing a spot of international tax advice this afternoon. Small scale stuff though. One of my clients has a son who lives in Guernsey and his wife is thinking of buying a house to let in the UK. There's little things to consider like the non-residents landlord scheme. Unless HMRC give approval, either the letting agency (if used) or otherwise the tenant has to deduct tax from the rent, pay the tax over to HMRC and the net goes to the landlord.

At present, UK properties owned by a non-resident don't get subject to capital gains tax when sold. In the budget the other week, the chancellor announced that as from April next year that will no longer be the case for residential properties.

Just the thing to keep my mind active on a Friday afternoon

It sounds delicious, Squiggle.
