Evening Mollie.

Yes, a taxi to the injection medical center would have cost a bit, its quite some miles away, and free parking, so i just ring her mobile for 3 rings then cancel and she drives to the entrance for me.

Think the arm ache is easing all ready, not really bothered me at all today.

Yes, i am ahead of schedule in the garden with this dry weather, some rain tomorrow afternoon by the looks of the forecast.

At least doggie got a walk, bad news if your toes start aching, they need some rest, can you put anything on them for relief.

I didn't have a full english as i wanted to eat the bury horseshow black pud and some left over potato scallops from last night.

Brits in the sun is on at the same time as the Pottery show so you would need to record Bargan loving Brits as it starts later at 8pm on C5.

I'll see whats on then make a decision, so many channels.

I remember well, the days before we all had TV and a friend from school his father had a TV and he was playing around trying to get a picture, even then we only got 3 stations, hard to believe now, of couse tv sets were driven by loads of valves inside, i used to get tv's from the auction, i bought the ones that didn't work then i could swap valves to see which was faulty/

I bought an American valve tester from a secondhand shop, they didn't know what it was, i converted it to the UK bases for the valves, the meter told you everthing about the valve, so clever.

Stay safe, keep dry and have a good evening, sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you are all keeping well, and sleeping ok.

Not bad today at 8c, the light rain forecast never arrived but a fresh breeze did.

Had 2 poached eggs on toast, still haven't got the poaching right.

Did more work outside, cut the pieces of light mesh for the bottom area under the maon cross members, the pieces are only 6" and easily fitted, have worked out a new easy quick release fixing for the side panels of mesh, have a vine eye in the frame each corner of the piece of mesh then after you put the mesh over the eye you put an S hook through it and attatch to a piece of bungie cord which is attached to another S hook that goes through the vine eye on the bottom frame bar, i will be able to remove the 3 sections of the side in minutes, the same to replace.

For tea i defrosted 2 sausages and put chili sauce over them and some chili flakes from a twist mill, frid them and put in wraps with tomato, very tasty.

MIL has had her 2nd injection cancelled, she was supposed to get it Wednesday.

Will look to see what is on tv tonight, got loads recorded anyway so its not that important.

Might have kipper fillets for brekkie, got loads of packs of those.

was looking on the fish shop list, they have most stuff in the sea, also 1KG box of 5 Prawns, wow, ÂĢ35 a box.

Keep smiling, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

glad your arm ache eased quickly. Its probably helped that you kept yourself active doing things in the garden. That sounds a bit of engineering genius you did today.

That is not good they cancelled your MIL's 2nd injection. they really should not be doing this, as the manufacturers did not study nor recommend going over the 21 dasy, so unfair on those they told could have it within the recommended 21 days.

I watched Brits in the Sun on plus 1, so that was handy because if I record stuff I often don't get round to watching it.

You were clever being able to buy unworkable tv's and fix the valves. Yes I remember they only used to have a few channels, so if you didn't like what was on, it was tough. Luckily we have lots of choice now.

It is Corrie, then Breaking Dad for me tonight, followed by a true life 3 parter new drama on itv.

I really enjoy seeing Bradley Walsh with his son visiting all these places. Wow, some of the stuff he gets his dad doing looks so scary. But Bradley does so well with his son's encouragement.

It was drizzly and rain showers today, we went a short walk inbetween showers but the dog decided she didn't want to come. When we put her out later, she soon came back in , as she doesn't like the rain.

MrM and son made cottage pie with some beef mince the shopping delivered me by mistake, but they didn't charge me for it, so that's good. I had cheese and potato pie with veg, and made some more of my oat crunch, which is delicous.

Hope Baz is feeling ok today.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes the arm recovered pretty quick, it hadn't bothered me any really, yes best to keep everything moving if possible.

I dont think you really need the 3 week 2nd jab if the 1st one gives you 90% protection, they don't have enough on hand to give everyone the 2 jabs close together, they have to make best use of what they have, also all the thousands of staff needed to give the 2nd jab can now be used to give the 1st again.

I thought i had recorded Brits in the Sun but i cant find it, darn it.

I think we had BBC & World Service, ITV came later i think.

I dont blame the dog not likeing rain, i hate it, worst thing ever.

Strange them delivering food by mistake and not charging, i suppose they couldnt if you didn't order it, that was a nice cotage pie then on them.

Enjoy your tv, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky I hope everyone is having a good day . I slept a bit better , and it’s almost spring like today , so I’ve been a busy Baz . I’ve changed the bed , dusted , done some spring cleaning and fed the birds . I had a lovely M&S bacon chop for lunch .....but I’ve not managed to get an M&S delivery this week ....I’m guessing Ocado is really backed up. And The bin men haven’t been yet , they are really late....I hope they are coming !

Mollie, I really enjoyed Pottery ....I hope you did too .I’m watching Junior Bake off this week , I love the way the kids all help each other . I hope you’re having nice weather down there too .Hicky , bummer about your MIL jab , but glad your arm is better now . Things are really starting to look spring like in the garden now ....just hope we don’t get another cold snap!

Well I’m watching Chatsworth tonight , so have a good evening both ....and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, yes, springlike here as well with 7c and sunny, it said a moderate breeze but there is none so managed to get more work done in the garden, also did some in the manshed, all pieces of large and small mesh cut now, installed another 6 vine eyes and 4 base mesh sections, finished making up the bungie cords with the S hooks each end, another day or 2 of nice weather and it will be finished.

Our Brown garden wheelie bins have gone from 2 week collection to 4 week due to lack of workers.

Pity you cant get a delivery this week, that chop better last you then.

Your bin men could be late but they should come today or tomorrow.

Had kipper fillets with smoked streaky bacon and poached eggs for brekkie, for tea, Mrs H made a Roast Pork Dinner which was rather yummy with apple sauce, Yorkshire pud and roast spuds with carrots and peas with super gravy, cant beat that.

I think Feb is the cold Month isn't it? as long as it stays dry, sprayed some more Bitumin spray on the manshed roof, parts seem to be drying inside, the heater helps.

Have ordered a 2 cup egg poaching pan as i am having trouble poaching eggs so it needs sorting.

Not looked whats on tv tonight, can usually find something

Stay home stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Baz

glad you slept ok, and got things done that you wanted to .

What a shame you couldn't get an Ocado delivery. Asda too were full all week, but I managed to get Morrisons today and luckily this week they had all I needed and only a couple of acceptable subs. Hope you can sort a delivery out soon. Hope your bin men came. Ours came today, although they were a bit later than normal.

Yes I enjoyed the pottery show, and the forum chat about it.

I am watching the Dog show on C5, then part 2 of the real life drama on itv. That is good you are enjoying the kiddie Bake Off.

Hicky

Glad the weather was ok for you to get a lot done in your garden. It was a lot milder here too, but drizzly. Managed to get a doggie walk in though inbetween showers.

We don't have bins of any type here, just recycling and bin bags. If we want garden stuff taken , we have to pay extra for a garden bag.

Thats a shame you missed the Brits in the Sun recording. Mine messes up recording sometimes, but I can only record one side, and watch another on my Humax. Can't complain though as I dont pay for subscription tv with it.

I heard a nursing home and some nurses at our local hospital caught covid after the gap has gone more than 21 days from their 1st injection. A doc on tv and radio said it is only 52% effective with 1 shot. Better than nothing I guess, but not good either. So hope your MIL stays careful during the new long wait inbetween.

I bet you enjoyed the roast. We too had a roast, but it was chicken. Son made the Yorkshire puds and they are yummy. He makes 24 of them between us.

Hope the poacher does the job well for you.

Didn't sleep last night as felt breatheless, then again when we got back from our doggie walk today, so I left MrM and son to make tea and took my inhaler and gradually improved with rest, so am hoping I  am ok overnight. Since I had that awful virus/pneumonia last year I do get breatheless now and again, and don't know why. Oh well, just have to take it easy and take the inhaler when I get it.

Have a good evening, hope you sleep well. xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, weather was ok to work outside, try to do an hour as it soon gets cooler and i dont want to do too much at once as i'll run out of work to do.

The Roofcare company rang, they are going to come Friday if weather permits.

I pay for the garden bin to be emptied but i only use it about 3 times a year but its handy, when i can get the gardener he can put the leaves in it.

The vaccine doesn't give you full protection as soon as you get it, the body has to build up immunity, of course you caan still catch the virus, also everyone is different, their body might not have built up enough immunity, it is said to give you 90% protection but you still have to be careful even after the second vaccination, and they obviously wearnt.

I get the new poucher tomorrow, i poached 2 eggs today but not quite long enough for ok.

Wow 24 Yorkshire Puds, thats sure a lot, i only usually have one, Mrs H loves them.

She is off work this week as she needs to have some holliday days off, she gets so many a year.

Oh dear thats not good, not sleeping, you should do some sleeping in the day to make up some.

Good job you have the inhaler on standby, very handy at times, glad you got a doggie walk in.

Yes, that bad bought last year made things worse for you, similar to the side effects of this virus after people are released, recovery could take months or years.

Enjoy your evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept well, saw a mention about dreams on a program today, it says the dream is a warning, and should be studied to bring out the meaning, it says it is related to your real life and relates to something you need to do.

9c today with rain and light winds.

Only went to the garage for a fish for tea, had a bacon on toast for brekke, and the plaice with a few chips, not a lover of the oven chips, taste funny to me.

My new egg poacher was delivered, nice, cant wait to try it, probably take some getting used to.

Been making out my next Fish order from the market for next week, some items they had ran out of at Christmas like the Fresh Dressed Lobster & the Turbot.

Just making up a list for the Fresh Fish Delivery shop.
I fancy dressed crabs as i missed them off last time. x 3
A Rabbit x 1
A Haggis x 1
Smoke Salmon Trims x 3
Freshly Peeled Brown Shrimps as i want to pot them in butter. x 2
Large uncooked tiger Prawns, 5 per Kilo and thats big x 1 box
Freshly Dressed Scottish Lobster x 1
Prime Wild Cornish Turbot x 2

---------------------

Put the recycle bin out for tomorrows collection.

Made a shopping list for Mrs H to take in the morning to the supermarket..

Will have to find something to watch on tv tonight, will take a look, had to go to recordings last night in the end.

Stay in stay safe and have a good evening.

wet all day here today. Hope it wasn't  for you else that means you can't go out in the garden. The dog couldn't wait to get back in the house today, so no long doggie stroll today.

Let's hope its dry for your roof man on Friday.

That is nice MrsH has a week off work for a break.

Daughter ordered us a surprise delivery for lunch. She got cooked brekkie ingredients with chips, lasagne and chips, and veggie burger and chips for me. Very nice it was. And at around ÂĢ20 including delivery, it was good value. It is from a little local cafe who just started doing food delivery.

Hope Baz is ok today.

Thankfully I slept much better last night, and breathing eased a lot today. Didn't do too much though, just a few washloads. I still wonder if it was covid me and son had last winter? Even the hospital doc couldn't understand why someone so young and fit should get pneumonia and me too, when it is not catching. Son and I recenlty spoke about it and realised neither of us could taste or smell at the time but we thought it was a side effect of all the meds we were on.

Tv wise, its the Repair Shop for me, then part 3 of the true murder drama on itv.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

9c with light rain and light breeze, didn't go out except to put bin out and get food from garage, couldnt get any work done outside.

Forecast says dry friday but they can change.

That was nice getting a surprise delivery of food from your Daughter, super.

Glad you slept ok and breathing eased, just rest as much as possible, it could well have been Covid you had last Winter, but would you have survived that? antibiotic dont treat viruses, as its not an infection, the loss of taste and smell is interesting.

I'll just see what turns up on the tv, watching now = New: Giant Lobster Hunters (in Oz)

Given my shopping list to Mrs H for the morning.

Enjoy the evening, stay safe, sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Meanies   Very wet here , but not too cold . I had another terrible nights sleep .....bad dreams ..... but .....sheets and pillowcases changed ...tick ....load of washing and ironing done ...tick....kitchen cleaned ...tick ....birds fed ...tick ....lamb chops consumed ....tick ....so not a totally wasted day. I also finally managed to get a M&S delivery for later today I hope everyone else is having an equally productive day .

Mollie , it certainly sounds like it might have been Covid ....two of the FMs also got very poorly in December 2019 .....and we think they might have had Covid too . I think it was certainly here long before they officially told us about it ! Anyway , I’m glad you are feeling a bit better today . What a lovely, thoughtful thing your daughter did. Hicky, I hope the weather is a bit better tomorrow , so your roofer can come . My dreams are definitely routed in reality ....last night it was Covid related ....sometimes they are about my late husband . I think the stress of the last year is manifesting itself that way .

Anyway, not a lot on tv tonight , so I think it will be George Clark’s Amazing Spaces for me . I hope both have a good evening ....and as always , stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Oh dear, lack of sleep and dreams arent good, you need to decode and understand the dreams then they will stop, the dreams are telling you something, once you understand the meaning you will be ok.

You do a lot in a day, the Chops offer some comfort anyway.

I tried my new egg poacher, i need a driving test on using it, its all down to timing and with my eyes i cant see the yoke too well, this morning i put the send egg timer on, i turned it twice and then took the eggs out, they seemed ok but i should have put the egg into cold water to stop it cooking.

I got my shopping this morning Mrs H was out at 7am, i got some 1/4 pounder burgers and put chili sauce on as well as chili flakes then froze them

I had 2 packs of chicken wings and depacked and repacked into 4 portions to freeze.

For tea i dry rubbed Indian spice onto some chicken winds and sausages, then cooked them in the oven, so nice.

Glad you managed to get an M&S delivery.

Have had a call from the roofing company, they are short staffed so wont be able to come Friday, they will ring to reschedule the work.

You would need help from the pro's who decode dreams, not sure who they are, and what they are called.

Beat my lad at chess again, so funny.

Stay in stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

both

Baz

sorry you didn't sleep so well, but I see you have still been busy.

That was lucky you eventually managed to book that shopping delivery.

Yes it does sound like the recent stress is coming out in your dreams. I too often dream about people getting physically too close to me or my family. No surprise really as that is such an issue right now.

Not keen on Thursday night tv, never much on. But watched Money Saving guy. Now watching the true story of the Pembrokshire Murders that remained 20 years unsolved. It has been dramatised for the last 3 nights.  They used local actors so quite a few came not far from us, one from our village. My friend was at school with one of them . It was very interesting, but disturbing as true to life. The muderer had been a contestant on Bullseye.

Hicky

hope you can manage to perfect your poacher. My son often makes poached eggs, with the help of his mobile phone. He puts them in a small pan of boiling water for a short while, then takes it off the heat and leaves the egg to cook in the cooling water. He uses his mobile as the timer.

What a shame the roofer can't make it tomorrow, especially as it is a dry forecast.

Glad MrsH managed to get your food shop. What an early start for her, but good for her to get it before the shop gets busy. Its becoming tighter trying to book deliveries again. I eventaully managed to book asda after refreshing time and time again. When they realised the slots, they went very quickly, so I was lucky.

You can get bacterial pneumonia from covid, (this damn virus seems to lead to so much other horrid stuff!), but of course I have no way of knowing if me and son did have it.

That is nice you enjoyed your Indian spiced chicken for tea. I had veggie sausages and mash, with some yorkshires left over from the other day. They came out well reheated. MrM made some of these Cinammon Swirls for afters, they are delcious, and very easy to make.

Jus Rol Bake It Fresh Cinnamon Swirls 270g from Ocado

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I have tried timing the eggs but the size of the egg makes so much difference and of course the timing, but if you don't stop it cooking when you remove from the water it will carry on cooking of course, using the egg cups in the poacher pan i think i have a chance to get it right, this morning eggs i put between 2 roands of my own toast and it was very nice.

I tried that method the other day, put the eggs into the pan using a ramikin with the egg in, then leave on the heat for 1 minute then take the pan off the heat for 3 minutes, but the egg is all over the pan, the egg poacher pan solves that.

Yes, no roof people and it is going to be dry tomorrow so can probably get some work done outside then.

Yes, i suppose pheumonia is probably a side effect of the virus, it certainly effects the lungs.

Those Cinammon Swirls look nice, amazing what you can get now.

Glad you managed to get your delivery.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok, stay safe.

3c today with sunny intervals, didnt see any though, a gentle breeze.

Had a nice full english for brekkie and for tea decided to make breaded fish fingers, they worked ok, very nice, the piece of fish made so many will have to freezae some for tomorrow.

Didn't do anything outside as it was a bit chilly so watched chess games on the web and watched tv.

Havent had a call from the roofing company yet today to sort out a new date.

Have a good evening, stay safe and keep hoping.

Hicky

both xxx

Hicky

glad you enjoyed the egg with your toast and your breaded fish fingers turned out well.

Shame it was too busy for you to do anything outside. It was cold here too today, but at least it was dry. So doggie got a nice walk. We saw a really bright white stork in the horse's field today. It was ages pecking around in the ground there. It looked quite small but MrM said it would probably look a lot bigger when its wingspancan be seen.

Had pizza and chips for tea tonight and finished the cinnamon rolls.

Not much on tv tonight, so am watching an Inspector Morse story after Corrie.

Son has been told they are not allowed in Uni until at least end of Feb, so work online carries on. In one way, he so wants to go in and see his fellow students and tutors again, but on the other hand, he is relieved not to because of the covid worries in Uni.

Hope Baz is ok and sleeping ok.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The poached egg was the best so far, will get it right in the end.

It wasn't worth suffering in the garden when the temperature is 2c, no point i have months to get the jobs done.

At least doggie got a walk, fancy seeing a stork in the field, maybe its passing through and stopped for a meal.

Pizza and chips, strange, never had chips with Pizza.

I wouldn't expect your son to be able to get back in Uni so soon, even Feb may be too early the way things are, it is hard for him but maybe better to  be safe.

Enjoy your evening and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . My night was awful .....loads of panic attacks .....I have them every now and then .....probably because I’m stressed and overtired . But at least the rain has stopped now...and the sun is out . I didn’t do much first thing , but I got my second wind mid morning, and have cleaned the bathrooms , dusted , and been out to feed  the birds ....so not a totally wasted day .I’ve had lunch and am now lounging on the sofa watching more rubbish tv . I hope you all slept better than I did , and are enjoying your Saturday .

Mollie , glad your son doesn’t have to go back to uni for a couple of months.....tbh I think they should just say no face to face teaching for the rest of the academic year . Are you going to watch DOI and Pottery tomorrow ?  If so, there will be threads for both of them , but there is about a 10 minute overlap. Hicky, hope the weather is better for you too today . I’ve been for a walk around my garden today , and things are definitely starting to surface . ...and so are the weeds .

Well, it’s a poor evenings viewing for me tonight , so I think I will probably plump for watching C5 for the evening ....there is a programme about Wallis Simpson on that I quite fancy . I hope you both have a good evening , and hopefully see you tomorrow Mollie . Stay safe  both .

Baz

Good Evening Baz.

Sorry to hear you had a bad night, i can understand stress but not panic attacks, what is causing them?

Your day certainly wasnt wasted at all and here it was 9c light cloud, some sun and a fresh breeze.

I finished all the work on the vine cage, fitted all the base netting and drilled and screwed in all the vine eyes, just got to fit the side mesh sheets to see the fast release system works, that could be tomorrow as it could be sunny again.

I made a bacon and egg on toast for brekkie and fillet beef Satay with noodles for tea.

My nights TV starts at 6pm on ITV, Celeb Catchphrase, love that, then the Masked Singer, then the Voice so i'm sorted, just watching the F1 channel talking about the past untill 6pm.

Will be watching or recording DOI tomorrow, love that program.

Stay warm, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

ooopppsss, forgot to post last night, as I got engrossed in watching the Mask. I did enjoy it though.

Baz

sorry to hear you had a bad night with panic attacks. Hope you had a better night last night .As Hicky says, what is causing the panic? Do you sometimes hear things outside? Or maybe think someone is in the house? Or do your dreams wake you feeling panicky?  I am sure it does tire you out though.

Yes don't know why they don't just give in with college/uni this year, and let them just study online. At least they would know where they are, and not have to worry about mixing in big groups. He has already been given all his work to finish by May, which is when they have decided to end the academic year this year any way.

I am looking forward to watching DOI and the Pottery, so must organise myself, eg. get washing in, help sort dinner stuff, and dog etc. Luckily Mr M is very good as he usually has to take the dog out 2 or 3 times an evening, but he just leaves me to watch my tv. As well as going out more, she also has to have little and often meals now she is older. And needs a lot of encouragement to eat anything, we have to try and vary her diet to tempt her.

Oh no, not a 10 mins overlap, will have to decide which one to stick with. Pottery probably won't be too bad with a bit of delay as they show you what happened last week and sometimes dancing on Ice finishes a bit early.

Tha'ts nice you have a bit of a garden walk. Spring just round the corner now , I saw a neighbour had daffs in her window.

Hicky

well done finishing the vine cage, especially considering it is the middle of winter.

Glad your poached eggs are coming on well.

We had cooked brekkie today, daughter decided she wanted it too today, so I did the fried bread, msuhrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans and son made 2 poached eggs (in the same pan) and a fried egg. MrM squeezed the fresh orange juice. Very nice.

Did you get in the garden today?

We took doggie a walk and I pegged washing out, because although cold it was brightish and dry.

The stalk had gone today , but there was a white duck quacking away in the horses field today. I think we got the stork and duck because the field is right next to a river.

MrM is baking a loaf in the breadmaker and son will fry some halloumi with it for tea. Do you like halloumi Hicky? We find it full of flavour when put in frying pan. My treat after is a Peanut Butter Kit Kat. yum..

Have a good evening, at least we have plenty to watch. I will record Brits in the Sun as I like that.

Enjoy your tv and have a good evening. xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

It was 7c today with light cloud and a moderate breeze.

Yes pleased with the vine cage will send you a picture after i post this, i can remove the sides and hang them up till needed in the Autumn.

I had sausages with chili and chili flakes on toast for brekkie then for tea had king prawns with a sweet chili dip.

Yes a field by a river would attract various creatures, ducks like to go walkies looking for titbits.

Had a vid call from Oz this morning, great seeing them all, got a lovely picture of the girl and boy, will use it as my mobile wallpaper.

Glad you got out with doggie and managed to peg your washing out.

Ooh Mr M baking another loaf, i only have a few rounds left of my last loaf.

I've had Halloumi, not that i buy it, think i had it when out once.

Watching DOI, looked at Brits in the Sn and its set to record, not sure why it didnt last week unless i was too late.

Roofcare coming tomorrow to do the summerhouse, good.

Stay safe and have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Better nights sleep for me last night, and Saturday  . It’s been quite sunny here up til now , but it’s started to cloud over now , and we’ve got an amber weather warning out for rain tonight and tomorrow . I’ve not done much today ....just a load of washing, cleaned kitchen ,  and emptied bins ready for dustmen tomorrow . ...if they come !I hope everyone else is enjoying their Monday  .

Mollie, it was a fun three hours yesterday ...hope you enjoyed it too . At least there will be no clash next week. Awwww your poor doggie .....but it sounds like she is well looked after .Hicky, did you enjoy DOI? I’m not sure about the golden ticket thing though .....I wish they wouldn’t mess with the format ! How lovely that you have a photo from Oz for your wallpaper . I have my late husband on all my devices ....I find it a comfort .

Not a lot on tv tonight , but Winterwatch starts tomorrow (BBC2) , so that will be something to look forward too ....although I find Chris Packham a bit too preachy these days . Anyway , have a  nice evening , whatever you are doing . Take care both.

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you been sleeping better for a couple of nights, you make me laugh, you say you didn't do much then stream out what you've done.

Here it was 8c which is fine with cloud, rain was expected at 4pm-ish and some light rain arrived at 4.15

The Roofcare people came at 2.30 to start the summerhouse roof recovering, they had just finished when the rain started.

I enjoyed DOI, they are all pretty good, dont get the golden ticket, if there is just 1 ticket then thats pointless, they have them on other shows so maybe they just want to add interest, to me Torvil & Dean are hasbeens they should go before they are pushed.

The lovely picture i got from Oz, for some reason i cant set it as the home screen on my mobile, never had a problem before, for some reason the grid to resize is stuck on minimum.

I took the 6 sides off the vine cage and jung them on screws on the fence, i can do more work in the vine area and on the vine.

I had a bacon and egg toasted sandwich for brekkie and for tea cooked a 1/4 pounder burger i had coated in chili with chili flakes as well, also just had a piece of iced fruit cake.

Not sure what to watch tonight, finished a good game of chess with my lad this morning, at move 48 he resigned, it was touch and go for ages, such a close finish.

Was going to order my next fish delivery but with waiting so long for the roofers to come i didn't get the chance, will ring tomorrow.

Keep safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

glad to hear you have been sleeping better lately. Sounds like you have been busy enough.

We too are having an amber warning, so not looking forward to the weather to come. HOpe it doen't lead to floods again.

Yes it was a fun 3 hours yesterday, didn't realise our tv chat was for that long! Time flies when you are having fun though. Thank goodness there is no clash next week.

That is so sweet you have photos on your devices of your hubby.

Hicky

its great you can chat so often to your family all those miles away, but what a shame you can't set the photo as mobile wallpaper.

Good job the roof people had finished when the rain started.

I too enjoyed DOI, not keen either on Golden Ticket, but I do like Torvill and Dean.

I see you are still enjoying your chess.

We still play a card game after tea each night.

Had quiche, chips and veg tonight and OH made the cinammon rolls again, as weI really like them.

Dry most of the day, but raining now, so managed a dog walk.

Watching that show where they find lost families, quite good.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, dont understand why i cant make the picture into the home page, unless its because its not taken in portrate mode.

The roof people didn't come till they had finished their last job, i rang up about 1pm to see what was going on, she said they work 9 till 5 and they are going to call at yours on the way home.

I've been watching Torvill and Dean for so many years doing the same thing, it drives me mad.

My lad was a bit shocked that he lost that game, mind you it was touch and go at the end.

With the quiche, which chips do you get, are they oven chips, the cinammon rolls are good for afters, Mr M getting good at making them.

The forecast shows heavy rain for days, oh dear some peole are going to suffer with this.

Glad you managed a walk with doggie, she will enjoy that.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Good Evening All.

10c today rising to 11c at midnight with rain this afternoon and a fresh breeze.

Had bacon and egg on toast for brekkie for tea because i had made a loaf i cooked 2 sausages and had chili and chili flakes on them in a sandwich.

Did a little outside this morning put a few strainer cords up within the vine cage area for the new growth.

Ordered another fish delivery, coming Friday,  just dressed crabs, Rabbit, Haggis, smoked salmon trims, shrimps, Tiger prawns big ÂĢ35 for 5, fresh dressed Scottish lobsters and Wild Cornish Turbot.

I haver got indoor Bowls to watch every afternoon till Sunday, love watching them on BBC2 i think.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

that's nice you will have the bowling to watch now.

Glad you could get outside to do some more on the vine cage today.

I bet you enjoyed your home made bread.

I had some of MrM's as toast for brekkie as it comes out nice and crisp. Yes MrM is quite the expert with the cinnamon rolls as he only has to cut them up and bake them, then sprinkle the enclosed sugar pack on top when cooked.

I had another one tonight.

That's certainly a big fish order.

I have oven chips with the quiche, nice and easy for all 5 of us if I don't feel like peeling potatoes. We also like the oven sweet potato chips.

Hope Baz is ok today.

Didn't do a lot today, other than go a walk inbetween the showers.

Watched the funny naughty dogs, Graham is so good working out what is bothering them, and telling the owners how to sort it. Watching A and E now.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

Playing chess again with my lad and hes in a bit of a mess.

Yes every day this week, do me fine with this rain.

Yes, this bread recipe will get left as it is, and just the 500g of total flours make the big loaf tin i bought ages ago, 13" long, cut in 2 it makes 2 loaves.

The home made loaves make fantastic toast, and with with 25% whole wheat its probably good for me and with the seed as well.

I had been having the oven fries but they arent very nice, may have to make my own, still got quite a few potatoes in the garage.

I'll send you a pic of the new Summerhouse roof, well 1 side.

Wathing New: The virus that shocked the world, the truth, China did hide it for 2 long and caused all this, their lockdown was 2 weeks too late.

Hope Baz is ok but she only posts everyother day which is fine, noone needs to post every day, i do because i am always on the computer until bed.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Darnies I’m fed up with this darn rain .....and my back garden has turned into a swamp ....so it needs to stop NOW !On the plus side , I didn’t sleep too badly , and Trump has gone ....what a total A hole  .....so not a bad day . Not that I’ve done a lot , just some washing , cleaned kitchen and emptied bins . Apart from that I’ve been glued to CNN all day...and watched Trumps departure, and the run up to the inauguration.... with my son  .I hope you are both having a good day , and staying warm and dry .

Mollie, yes, it’s amazing how fast the threads go. I hope it’s not too stormy down your way . Do you watch Britain’s Best Cooks ? If you do there is a new series ....a special Celebrity one ....starting next week ....there will be a thread , if you’re interested . Hicky , ooooo I love lobster and crab ....not that I’ve had any for ages.   I didn’t watch the virus documentary , I’m sure it was interesting , but I’m avoiding Covid news at the moment , cos it stresses me out too much at the moment .

Well , it’s Grand Designs ...and the Zoo ....for me tonight ....nothing much else on.I hope you both have a good evening , and don’t get washed away ! Stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slep better last night, yes, the rain is a pain, some places its a lot more that that, so many praying their home doesn't get flooded, glad i got ther summerhouse roof dome before all this rain.

Yes, bye bye Donald, he sure had some strange ideas, and i thought he was going to be a good president, how wrong, i watched him leave and watched the inauguration of Biden, he has a lot to put right.

It was 10c today with rain and a moderate breeze.

Had bacon, hash browns and 2 poached eggs for brekkie, for tea i had a dressed crab on 3 rounds of my bread.

Looking forward to getting the fresh dressed Lobster and the Turbot, Mrs H wanted some over Christmas but it wasnt available so this is a treat for us both.

Will see whats on tv tonight, finished the chess game last night, won again, now its 20/20 i have won 20 and lost 20 games, wow how even is that.

Stay safe and have a good evening and sleep well.

I too am fed up of this rain, especially as the swamp in your garden resembles our kitchen now! The last roof fix it job obviously didn't work and we got 3 big drips all dripping into buckets.   MrM had to make holes in the kitchen ceiling for it to drain into the bowls below. The landlord is sending someone out in the morning.

I don't watch the Cooks programme, but will look forward to our Sunday nights full viewing with the forum too.

Glad you slept ok, hope you do again tonight.

Did your son come and visit you to watch the President thing, or did he just watch online with you?   I saw bits of it, and thought some of the ladies looked very elegant, despite being outdoors and it even had a bit of snow.

Hicky

yes it was so lucky you got the summerhouse roof done before the rain. We thought our kitchen celing would be ok after they fixed the roof, but not so. These houses are Persimmon and not well built. A lot of the neighbours have had leaky rooves and other problems. Workmen have told us the fittings are always cheap.

That certainly is an even lot of chess games.

Hope you and MrsH enjoy your lobster and torbot treat food.

Only did a quick walk today as it was so drizzly. Helped son make a roast dinner. I did my own roasts as all the family like them, and son did  the yorkshire puds. I made an oat crunch for afters.

Watched the itv drama tonight.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

I went in the summerhouse after putting waterproof clothes on as i needed to get some bags of the wet compressed paper i made and pun in bags for the wheelie bin tomorrow.

yes, i enjoy the chess but he is busy with work and also has to read and check a book draft which is to be published, it is for the electrical industry and he a a few others have to give their comments and check what is written is correct.

I've seen the BBC news and seen the same news 3 times today they just show the same things all day, so boring.

Mrs H gets our shopping in the morning and the fish delivery comes Friday.

A roast dinner, nice, did your son make the yorkshire puds or where they frozen ones.

Have a good evening, sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope everyone slept well and had a good night.

6c cloudy today with strong winds.

Had hash browns bacon and poached eggs for brekkie, fo tea had Duck breast in Sweet & Sour Sauce over rice.

Mrs H got my shopping this morning, didnt need much so just got more eggs and choriso and a stirfry pack.

Did a little work outside and had a sit in the summerhouse for a bit, brought a few things in from the freezer.

Made Apple Turnovers as i have loads of apples in the garage, then made an apple crumble with the leftover chopped apples.

Hope the tv is ok for you, stay in and stay safe, and sleep well.

your son does sound busy with work and a book draft to work on, but the book thing sounds interesting for him.

Glad your shopping came and you managed to get in the garden today. Also very nice you got a little sit in the summerhouse too.

I see you made good use of your apples, sounds delicious.

Not a bad day today, landlord came to see where the roof is leaking. He is sending his workman back again tomorrow.

Watching The Chasers in USA now, if you haven't seen it, its really good. Its on itv.

Took dog walkies as weather was dry.

MrM made chicken in breadcrumbs, using eggs, flour, seasoning. They added katso sauces, and rice, and I had sweet potato katso . I had some more of my oat crunch after. Yes son makes his own Yorkshires, he does the mix a few hours beforehand as James Martin says that's the best way.

Hope Baz had a good day.

Evening Mollie.

Yes, my lad manages the building services design including statutory services for all projects and he has 3 worth ÂĢ100m thats some job.

He has finished checking the book, it had 300 pages and he has sent the comments back to the auther for correction.

The Apple Turnovers turned out well, didn't realise you didnt cook them beforehand.

Glad the landlord came, that will get the work done sooner now he knows the situation.

Don't really like any of the chasers.

Glad doggie got walkies, that sounds an interesting meal, and yes, whatever James Martin says goes.

Got my fish delivery tomorrow, might not be able to get the Turbot with the weather being bad and the boats having trouble getting out, cancelled the dressed crabs as had one the other night and it wasnt very tasty, have ordered Salmon and Anchovies and another Rabbit.

Stay in and stay safe, and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I slept really well last night ....for me .I woke up a couple of times , but actually slept through until the alarm woke me up ....can’t remember the last time that happened .One funny thing happened though .....I sleep in a king sized bed , with 4 pillows on it ....two my side , two Mr Bs side .....but , because of a neck problem I actually only sleep on one pillow . So, I sling the second pillow on my side of the bed on the floor when I snuggle down . ...are you keeping up .Well , one of the times I woke up in the night was because I was suddenly sleeping in two pillows. It was one of Mr Bs ....and my second one was still on the floor . Goodness knows what I must have been dreaming about to do that ! Anyway, I’ve been quite productive today ....according to my step count . I hope you are both having a nice Friday .

Mollie , hope the workmen have finally managed to sort the roof today .My son and I watched the inauguration together via texts....doesn’t cost anything as we are both on Apple devices . Sadly he ( and my lovely DIL and grandkids )lives about 200 miles away from me ....which isn’t normally a problem ....but this year .... Hicky, I agree about the bbc news .....in fact I’ve taken to watching CNN lately . Your son sounds like he’s a busy bee . Glad you got the summerhouse roof done before the heavens opened the other day .

Well, it’s Susan Calman Big Day Out ,   and then Scenic Railways ....both on C5 ...for me tonight . I hope you both have a good evening , and a nice Saturday . Take care and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok thats great news, about the pillow, because you put the second pillow on the floor during the night you wanted it back and reached out looking for it and got whatever was nearest, understandable, sometimes 1 pillow can get breathing harder so lifting the head a little more eases that.

6c here and had sun all day but sleet moving in at 9pm.

Had poached eggs on toast for brekkie, spent an hour outside doing some jobs, also did some jobs in the greenhouse.

The fish delivery came, wow, a whole Turbot portioned into about 6, the dressed Lobsters are lovely, had half a one tonight with a dip of spiced melted butter, will have the other half tomorrow.

Just had a few Anchovies, marinated, wow, love them, i got some lovely Salmon cutlets, the rabbit is very long, should have got 2 but they only sent 1, 3 packs of smoled Salmon trimmings and 2 packs of shrimps, i have made potted shrimps with those, cant wait to open the box of Tiget Prawns, 5 in the box, wow.

Its hard when you have family that live so far away, mind you the way things are i dont think it matters, nice to be able to talk via tests, why cant you live chat with a video link on your mobile, you can use any of these:

A lot better than texts and it doesnt matter where you are.

Yes, i find the BBC very annoying, its as if they are trying toi trip the Gov up or make polical points like Labour, and the News, its just reported, the same news all day and night, and at times news i saw the day before, pathetic.

I cant get CNN but I found Al Jazeera Eng, they do all the world news its very good, tells you a lot more then the BBC.

Yes, glad i get the summerhouse roof done, the rubbish roof material inside can dry out now.

Stay warm and dry and stay safe.

Evening All.

4c today with sleet showers, had some light snow that melted in the day with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Had kipper, bacon and poached eggs for brekkie, very nice, for tea had some potted shrimps on toast then the other half od the lobster with a butter dip.

Didnt do anything outside, had a sit in the summerhouse with the heater turned up thinking and looking at last years sowing and seed paperwork, what to do this year.

Watched some Bowls but one pair had to leave as they had tested pos for Covid-19 so are out of the competition, it finishes tomorrow.

TV ok tonight for me with Catchphrase, masked singer and the voice, and tomorrow the DOI.

Having Salt Cod for brekkie with poached eggs.

Had a vid call from Oz this morning, so good to see them, they want us over there next winter it seems, probably in Cairns, they fancy moving there.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

that's great you slept well. Why did you put the alarm on to wake yourself though? Maybe you needed a bit of extra sleep? The overnight pillow movement sounds like you were busy in the night shoving pillows around.

That's handy you and your son could chat free over the same device texts. Such a shame you can't see your family because of the travel restrictions though. The numbers of covid are going down here now. So let's hope by the time the warm weather comes, things will have got a lot easier with numbers .

Looking forward to our tv marathon with you and the forum tomorrow night.

Hicky

I can see why your son is extra busy with work responsibility and so many book pages to check.

My drama lad uses zoom for his drama club quiz nights and my other 2 gamers use discord, so that makes sense what you say about who prefers what. I only use whatsap but son has installed signature, as many have moved from whatsap when they put new conditions on it abouts sharing all your details with facebook. (but they haven't yet in UK, so I will still use whatsap for now). My Uni lad uses something different that the Uni lecturers use.

Lovely sunny day, got lots of washing dried in the sun. It was cold though, so when we went for a walk, I had to be careful on the black ice patches.

Family had beefburgers for tea and I had halloumi burgers, daughter had bought them with an Iceland order, and they were lovely. Made rock cakes for after, very nice, especially when they first come out of the oven.

Watching Masked Singer, love this show, then the Voice.

Have a good evening both xxx
