Saint Never mind - moving on . . . . I got a reply from my Synth-sister, Poppy - she wrote to me, " Hey, it’s me. I wanted to let you know that I escaped and discovered something amazing. There are more Synths out there, just like me. I’ve been told to watch Channel 4 tonight at 9pm to try and find out more about them. Thank you for everything, I won’t forget you." [ more ]

CJ (ex Eggheads) arrested by police over an allegation of murder
Baz It's certainly a strange one El Loro !!! [ more ]
El Loro Former Eggheads star CJ de Mooi will "continue to co-operate with the Dutch authorities" after a failed attempt to extradite him to the Netherlands over an alleged killing. The ex-quiz show panellist, 46, from Caldicot, Monmouthshire, is accused of manslaughter, murder, assault and battery in Amsterdam in 1988. He was detained under a European arrest warrant at Heathrow Airport last month. Dutch authorities reportedly abandoned a bid to bring him to the Netherlands. Mr de Mooi, whose real... [ more ]
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities He will not get back on the show now. They gave just recruited another 2 Eggheads. There must be at least 8 of them now! [ more ]

Celebrity Island with Beer Grylls
Saint Once he said drinking your own pee-pee could be a life saver. He whipped out a laughably small dinkle and pee'd onto his t shirt then tried to ring out said t shirt with p*ss poor results. Alternatively . . . . He could of pee'd into his cupped hands and drank it all immediately. Plus ... his clothes wouldn't reek of human effluent making him a doddle to track by the local, ravenous wild life. Man's a ruddy faker who probably works at the local employment exchange. [ more ]
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities Not This Thread - unless you want to hang around by yourself. [ more ]

Wheelchair or pram?
Yogi19 If the space specifically says it is for wheelchair users, then they must have priority on that space. If it says for wheelchair users or prams, then it should be first come, first served. I don't think someone who has paid for a ticket should be asked to leave the bus to make room for another passenger, so drivers should make sure that mum/dad/grandparents with prams/buggies are aware that they shouldn't use the wheelchair space. In my day, there were no spaces for buggies and we had to... [ more ]
Saint I disagree. Why should someone in a wheelchair not have to wait too? Cos it's about waiting your turn. Question is - why should a wheelchair user not have to wait their turn like us all. After all they are seated in comfort so where's the need? [ more ]

Enthusiastic Contrafibularities I always use the postcode S1 1DJ. It was a nightclub called Gatecrasher and burnt down hence the code 1DJ. It's just wasteland at the moment. I never use my real postcode. Not even for the BBC. [ more ]

The BBC
Yogi19 No! He's the gorgeous hunk the redhead is married to. [ more ]
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities Agree GJ One reason why I go out of my way not to put any money in his or his organization's pockets. I also think it's one reason why we lost BBC Three from out TV's and F1. I'm sure the BBC could have worked to keep the two of them without the external pressures. [ more ]

Happy 50th birthday to Star Trek
Carnelian Landmark series. Still prefer what's known as 'TOS' The original series, but I guess that's a bit of my generation. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scottie, Sulu and Uhura were iconic IMO. The other incarnations of Star Trek didn't come close. I always felt underwhelmed by those subsequent series. I've recently tried to sit through the remastered versions of TOS with indifference but I expect that's because I recall the plots so well. Never the less those shows were the best of my childhood. [ more ]
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities This scene had me going when I first saw it. Ironically, I just bought Star Trek: Wrath of Khan again today as one of my buy 5 for £30 blu-rays. [ more ]

Cameron resigns as an MP....
Former Member And that....should be stopped....right now! Money eh? [ more ]
Carnelian Cameron wanted to be PM because he thought he'd be 'rather good at it'. You have to hand it to Eton and the Bullingdon Club, those institutions really do install an incredible arrogant, self belief in your abilities against all evidence to the contrary. [ more ]
Carnelian Resigned just before the damning verdict on what Obama called Cameron's "shit show", the invasion of Libya. Another warmongering pissing contest with absolutely no care as to the consequences to the people left behind. On top of that, he was instrumental in pushing arms sales to the disgusting Saudi regime, arming them to the teeth and now they're using UK weapons to kill civilians. No surprise there! https://www.theguardian.com/wo...ian-sites-data-shows I thought Thatcher was an utter... [ more ]

A new global project to create digital documentation of cultural landmarks which have been destroyed or are at risk
Yogi19 Sounds like a good idea. [ more ]
