Eugene's Lair Ah, well: only 1 right on the last 3, as I seriously underestimated the love in the Academy for "La La Land". Usually these movie awards ceremonies are very predictable with the favourites always winning. That was mostly the case tonight, but I was still really pleased to see both Dev Patel and "Kubo and the Two Strings" win. As for the other results: I'm still up on the night, so no worries. [ more ]

Eugene's Lair I appreciate that the numbers involved are very small, but leaving aside exclusive releases, I can't understand why anyone nowadays would buy their music on cassette. If you really want to play it on retro equipment like a Walkman, buy it in another format and copy it over. One of my big regrets is that as a teenager I bought too much of my music on tape.
