It's about the life of Æthelflæd, Lady of the Mercians. she was the eldest daughter of Alfred the Great and lived from about 870 to 918 AD. Although she's not at all well known, she was important in the history of the construction of England.

 

She was buried at St Oswalds Priory in Gloucester. The 1100th anniversary of her death was marked in Gloucester last year:
