In fairness if I could go electric I would. At the moment I live in a top floor apartment and can't get a cable long enough to reach the car park.

I had to get one now as I had reached the end of my tether commuting for so long and with the onset of winter it was a no brainer.
Nice one EC
It will free up a whole load of time for you
I currently have a black car but next will be a white one.
This one - the only reason for which (other than it will be a Mobility car) is it's massive wind screen

Oooo thatâs a nice car Renton
It's a Citroen C4 Picasso
Never a car I would buy cos French cars are expensive to repair and have poor reliability BUT as we won't own it AND it I will be able to fit my mountain bike inside
And it has that massive overhead windscreen
Next year's car for us
So . . . .
What car do you lot drive?

Yes, they used to be thought better for the atmosphere ...now it turns out they are worse But our Picassoâs were diesel anyway , so used to the noise

Yes, the time aspect is the biggest plus for me.
I have seen on of those large windscreens and the let in a lot of light, give the cabin a very open feel.
I have drawn a picture of my new car.

Mine... I hate it as it's like a frikkin van... But i love it too, it even has electric sliding doors
Jen-Star posted:Mine... I hate it as it's like a frikkin van... But i love it too, it even has electric sliding doors
I think sliding doors will become more common, safer too as space becomes tighter. Electric doors are quite common in USA.
And ... there's plenty to be said for an older car.
I've had two older cars and one almost new ... I preferred the older ones.
You don't mind a lil scratch here or there, as they already have them!! And when they don't break down, you feel a sense of pride that this clapped out old wreck is plucky enough in it's old age to still get you there.
You warm to it, you and your rusty heap against the world, it has charm and character. And if you bump it - well it's recording it's history.
Unless a new car is perfect then it's always going to be a let down.
If an old car starts first time ... it makes you smile

A bit like me that
Still ready for the attack Moonie - even though you can't find an army
THIS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN is exactly like my first car
A Nissan Sunny 1.5sgl Liftback (mine was in silver)
I loved that car - it was huge, could carry a fridge in the back - no problem.
It was solid - you could even punch the dashboard, which I never did in anger, just tried it once to test its integrity ... it passed.
But best was the soft n bouncy suspension - loved that.
Someone crashed into the back of my Nissan - so a mate checked it out by looking in the boot for internal damage. Then slammed the boot lid ... a huge plate of rust fell off the underside and onto the floor
It kept going without a hitch for another 6yrs

Did you just call my car a rusty heap? Thats not a pic of my actual car BTW, those tyres look awful!
I said it had character
Look at the car I learned to drive in
Yep - the one I drove had white wall tyres !!!

What does the log book say?
. . . and other questions
It's doing very well actually. Just realised I have actually done 10 days travelling to work and back and only used a quarter of a tank of fuel. That mean if I manage a similar level I should go around 5-6 weeks between fuelling. A lot better than I thought.
Are you happy with the drive?

Yes, now I have had a couple of weeks behind the wheel. It is a bit more powerful than I expected from a diesel. Also everything feels a shade more refined.
A shade more refined than . . .
I always use Magnatec oil - you can defo feel the difference
