I've not seen it EFFT...is it any good?

I've watched a few things I hadn't seen before ..on iplayer this past year....'Merlin'....'Call the midwife' plus binge watched on Netflix or you tube ...'the living & the dead'...'humans'...'the fall'........wasn't disappointed with any of them

Yes, it is really great. In my opinion anyway and my sister. Well worth watching all series. Only 6 episodes per series (one series only has 5), but there is so much packed into each episode that it feels like more.

Yes - definitely looking forward to it tonight.

My only concern is that expectations might be too high: you know there's a potential problem when other Mercurio fans consider the James Nesbitt series "Bloodlands" to be merely a "warm-up act"...

Really excited about Kelly Macdonald as this series' guest star (though I haven't checked yet to see if the bookies are taking bets on how many episodes she'll last... ). Also; the trailers seem to be suggesting that the storyline may finally be investigating - if only as a red herring - one particular theory I've had since the very beginning...

I am hoping it’s as good as the previous series Eugene ....but I agree , expectations are very high .

Love how the announcer had to explain what "CHIS" means at the end of the episode!

Apparently there's been a lot of google searches on it, and a similar-sounding (but much ruder) word which I'm probably not allowed to write here has been trending on Twitter for the last hour!

Ive recorded it ....was it good Eugene ?

Yes, I thought so.

I really don't want to get into "spoiler" territory, but it's a little bit more of a slow-burner than straight into shocks and cliff-hangers like some of the previous series. Recording is definitely a good idea, as there were a lot of "Ooh: where's this going?" moments, and you may have to refresh your memory regarding minor characters from previous episodes...

Prior to Series 5, I blitzed my way through Seasons 1 to 4. This time I just watched the season 5 finale in preparation for the start of series 6.

Absolutely loved it. Had heard that some were saying it wasn't quite as good as the previous series, but I thought it was every bit as good!

I’m enjoying Line of Duty ....if I can keep up with the plot... But that DI is a nasty bit of work . And is the replacement policeman in uniform the baddy from a previous series?

Which DI are you meaning, Baz? Kelly Macdonald's character?

The replacement plod is Ryan Pilkington, who we've seen grow up since his first appearance in Series 1. He once tried to remove Steve Arnott's fingers with bolt cutters, which is why he was desperate to avoid being seen by Steve in S6E2...

Hi Machel Yes , I’m hoping she is too ……and that Steve sorts her out I don’t reckon much for the chances of the cop they just locked up ….cameras or not.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I don't think Carmichael is senior enough - either in rank or age - to be "H"/"The Fourth Man". However I do think she's covering for "him": the big question is whether she's doing it knowingly or unknowingly...

That said: I would like to join the online chorus praising the performance of Anna Maxwell Martin this season. To watch an actress best known for comedy roles (and as someone who considers comedic acting a specialist skill I must stress that I do not say that as a put-down) dominate every scene she's in to the extent that she can make the whole nation scream at the TV with the merest smirk has been quite extraordinary!

Nor do I ....... and I thought something was about to happen when they stopped in the corridor and the lead guard disappeared into a room to our right!

I watched last nights .....it’s warming up nicely ....I knew that uniform guy was bad news .....and my money is still on the female

Ryan Pilkington featured in the first series, he was just a wee boy then!

Perhaps the officer who said Hastings should retire?

I agree with you, her acting has been outstanding, her smirk and a hint of one has me ggrrrrr at the screen every time

DCC Andrea Wise is definitely a possibility, although again she may just be doing - however inadvertently - someone else's dirty work...

Chief Constable Osborne still seems the most likely and - AFAIK - remains the favourite. However we know from many years of watching Mercurio's work just how skilled he is in setting up red herrings. Consider PCC Rohan Sindwhani: I think the biggest surprise of Ep. 5 was discovering that he wasn't bent after all!
