I didn’t back Boris returning….but the answer wasn’t Truss……be careful what you wish for, the entire bunch in Westminster are more concerned with keeping their well padded backsides on seats and winning elections than what is good or bad for the country.I’m at the plague on both their houses stage

I do so hope that the trust that is being put in Sunak bears fruit, or at least quickly shows signs of things going in the right direction because if we end up with a general election any time soon, I think we will end up with labour in control and for now, Starmer comes across as being a bit weak. He COULD buck up if it ever came to it, but he doesn't fill me with confidence.

A weak leader generally leads to a weak everything else!

I have to say I tend to agree EFFT …and I was reasonably impressed by his speech at lunch time …but the proof will be in the pudding , as they say .

And the Work and Pensions minister ….…. I wonder if they are jumping before they are pushed.

Yes, some of them are resigning and vowing to support Rishi from the back benches.

It's not too surprising really, as most (if not all) of Truss' cabinet were appointed because they were her friends/had supported her in her bid to be PM and not really obviously qualified for the positions they were given.

I understand that Reese-Mogg had criticised Sunak at one point because he did not agree with Truss' tax cuts.
