So: I'm watching news footage of Kier Starmer getting heckled at the Labour Party Conference, and I suddenly find myself shouting at the screen "Hey: isn't that Carole from BB8?".

Sir Keir Starmer heckled at Labour Party conference - BBC News

I knew she'd been active in the SWP for a long time, but TBH I wasn't totally sure it was her. However, I had a quick look over on Digital Spy and someone there is a lot more certain than me that it is indeed her...

Carole said,

'I don't consider it to be heckling, I consider that I stood up and spoke out because it needed to be said,' she said.

'He had ignored – and this conference has ignored – people that have been standing up and asking for him to guarantee the 15 per cent rise for the NHS, a £15 minimum wage.'

She said she expected to be thrown out of the party for her actions, adding: 'He had 10 pledges. He has reneged on most of those pledges. He talked about uniting the party. The party has never been so divided as it is now and it's getting worse.

'I probably will be expelled and that's sad because I work bloody hard for this party. I don't get paid for it, it's because on my membership card it says this is a party of socialist democrats, it's a socialist democratic party and that's why I joined – so we all have a voice and we haven't had a voice.'

Let's face it....she wasn't the most disliked housemate....I'm sure you all have someone in mind to take the title!

Oh, she definitely wasn't the worst in BB8; a year that included - amongst others - Emily and Charley...

My memory of her is rather vague, but I think I was fairly ambivalent to her. IIRC she quickly gained control of the kitchen, but otherwise came across as a rather weak leader. Charley's campaign to undermine Lesley was helped by Carole's willingness to just accept all her "peeing in the shower" nonsense without question (although to be fair, she wasn't the only one...).

Oh I had forgotten about Emily's ejection

But not Jonty's 'erotic' posturing

Actually when thinking back...there was a lot going on in that series.

Ziggy emerging from the pool was a particular highlight for some

that was my first thought too Eugene. If she’d twiddled her chin hair I would have been certain 😂

I'm watching "The Last Leg" on C4+1 right now, and - in a reference to Carole's Conference appearance - they've got Jon Tickle in the audience heckling Alex Brooker!

Wasn't John Tickle a bit of a t̶i̶t̶  'know it all'
I'll bet Alex gave as good as he got....hope so!

Hardly a fair punch up though

Don't knock the Ticklemeister!

It was a verbal assault only. It got a bit strange because the comedian Maisie Adam was one of the guests, and I think she's a BB fan. like me, she did a "hang on, isn't that Carole?" double-take when they showed the Conference footage, and after Jon's intervention she admitted she wanted to take selfies with him afterwards!

Didn't he go on to do a show about gadgets or something like that?

.... would you be wanting a selfie with any ex BB housemates Eugene?

He co-hosted "Brainiac" on Sky.

As a rule, I don't generally have much to do with selfies at all, but I must admit I probably wouldn't turn down photos with either Jon Tickle or Eugene Sully if given the opportunity...

(...And with hindsight, one with Nikki Grahame would have been nice... )

Yes I remember Brainiac an interesting show...not on sky though, well, not on my telly anyways

It's sad Nikki died so young, though not a surprise unfortunately.
I wasn't a fan of her temper tantrums

This is probably going way O/T. but it's my thread, so...

Not a big secret, as I've mentioned it repeatedly on the forum, but I really didn't like Nikki in the house either (very much an Aisleyne fan that year). However: I "spoke" to her on one of the web chats that GaGa organized here early-on, and I have to admit that she was absolutely lovely...

Awww that's sweet ...I'm sure she was quite lovely behind the facade of her tv personality Eugene

I was an Aisleyne supporter too ....far less dramatic
