I was rummaging through my loose change prior to buying lunch this morning, and noticed something odd: one of my 10p coins was "unmilled" (the edge was smooth, rather than ridged). On looking closer, I also realised that the coin was slightly "off-centre" - the outer ridge on the "face" side was wider at some points than others.

My immediate reaction was that it was counterfeit, but I'm well aware from my old stamp collecting days that misprints happen, and that they are collectable. I therefore went online, and found - amongst similar pages - this:

I suppose the moral is: keep 'em peeled!
