In the first singles match of the Fed Cup playoffs today, Naomi Osaka beat Heather Watson 6-2, 6-3. That was the least likely match for GB to win given the rankings.
Johanna Konta levelled things by then beating Kurumi Nara 6-4, 6-2.

Unlike the Davis Cup, tomorrow's matches start off with the reverse singles matches. First up is Johanna Konta and Naomi Osaka, followed by Heather Watson and Kurumi Nara. If the doubles match is played then at present it's scheduled to be Anna Smith and Gabriella Taylor against Miyu Kato and Makoto Ninomiya. If it's like the Davis Group, the GB team for the doubles could change.
