Good morning everyone

Still sunny here but not expected to be as warm as the last couple of days.

More out of curiosity rather than anything else I watched a British film version of Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher. Made around 1947/8 and released in 1950 with an H certificate (for horror films generally American - hardly ever used - IMDB lists 24 films, the most famous being Bride of Frankenstein).
Not a good film, clearly extremely low budget, clearly amateur actors with only one professional (a Gwendoline Watford who was the only one who showed any ability). A bit scary in places. Ar least the film was short. It did have some success and it's possible that it had an influence on Hammer's development.

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro
