It was a bit of a shock at first, I thought all my shrubs would go on for ever but I am told they get woody so I am looking upon it as an opportunity instead and although the lady who planted the garden had loads of hebes (I still have a few) I thought a nice mix might be better. It's acid soil here so camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas etc do well. But there is a smallish hebe that does well in coastal areas and the nursery assures me they have a stock of those. It is exciting, if daunting.
