Good morning everyone, not a bad morning but not really sunny. I hope all goes well at the dentist for your son Yogi, I didn't think they knocked people out anymore for tooth extraction. I just had a local for the last time I had a back molar out. I hope the bed arrives without delay and is just right for the room.
Time to get those shrubs out today, I have counted 6 that I think should go, and then it's a question of choosing the right replacements. I went on a specialist rhododendron site but all the ones I liked were out of stock.
Have a good day everyone.
It's not a normal extraction. The tooth is a wisdom tooth and there isn't enough room for the tooth to come through the gum - it is trying to come out sideways! It is also pressing on a nerve, which is causing great pain. The dentist will need to lance the gum and remove the tooth then stitch the gum. I had the same done on one of my wisdom teeth, but they didn't knock me out - agony!
Choosing new shrubs - that's my kind of shopping.
That sounds awful Yogi your poor son, no wonder he needs his mum with him
I have dropped him off. The dentist is in the village and the receptionist knows me, so she is going to phone when I have to go pick him up. He isn't allowed to drive for a while afterwards.
I'm not sure that it is a general anaesthetic he is having, although son used the term "knocked out". It is possible it is the same type of heavy sedation they give me when I get colonoscopys done. You feel like you have been unconscious because you can't remember a thing, but apparently there is some level of consciousness, and you do "come round" much quicker than from a GA - one doctor descibed it as similar to Rohypnol, the date rape drug.
