Dave We also use a ranking system over there. 0-24 posts and you're a Groupee Newbie. 25-999 and you get Groupee Member as your title. 1,000 and over you get Groupee VIP. If your title was newbie you just didn't post as much as others. [ more ]

tupps Ohh ya redickulus.. Lovely tone btw. I said how intimidating they can appear to newbies. On C4 big stars and twirlies equalled greater post count which would usually equal greater time spent on the forum posting their views and gaining a 'reputation' and/or maybe a little kudos. Couple that with obvious groups of people posting away with each other like they were old mates and you have the equivalent of starting your first day as the new kid in school... which you have half illustrated for... cologne 1 I think it'd be lovely to have US FMs joining in. I understand the 'spoiler' issue for certain programmes, but maybe something can be worked out, it shouldn't hold the forum back as a whole. [ more ]
Yellow Rose that made me laugh. I visit a large Forum that has members from US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Europeans including Brits. Everyone gets on fine - just an occasional spat - but if any of them visited this Forum they'd get a very different view of certain Brits than they're used to Runs away with EA lol [ more ]
Essie I think we should be able to speak directly with the American Fm's, when they see how stupid our posts are, they will be glad they moved over there in the first place all them hundreds of years ago. Runs away quick. [ more ]

Heatseek I used to have the very same problem on the old C4 forum using Internet Explorer & resolved it by allowing Pop-Ups. Steven mirageuk: No, we don't have a tech solution in place to limit the number of times someone can post to a topic. That's not a feature that would get much use on many communities. Regarding post counts, I don't believe that we will be removing the display of them anytime soon. I wouldn't worry about it too much. After a while, its pretty easy to see who posts quality and who posts quantity. [ more ]

LOL It may have been better to call it the 'flaming arguments' board; anyone going on there to argue is effectively admitting they are a troll, and as you implied, no-one is going to admit to that Ergo: I don't see many people 'using' it. Although, it seems that the mods will be putting the argumentative threads on there. [ more ]

I even went back on the last day, to let them know there was a news forum here and other attractions of this site, like the ability to edit and delete posts, but the (news)forum seemed to have already gone.
