British interest on the first day rests with Heather Watson , who meets 52nd-ranked Iveta Benesova, and wildcards Johanna Konta and Naomi Broady, up against Christina McHale and Lourdes Dominguez Lino respectively.

Joshua Goodall drew fellow wildcard Grega Zemlja and 19-year-old Oliver Golding plays Igor Andreev.

Andy Murray will begin his Wimbledon campaign against former world number three Nikolay Davydenko on Tuesday. Anne Keothavong plays Laura Pous-Tio.

British number two Elena Baltacha face a player ranked eight places below her in Italy's Karin Knapp, while Laura Robson takes on 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone. British number two James Ward plays world number 36 Pablo Andujar and Jamie Baker will hope to cause an upset against out-of-form three-time finalist Andy Roddick.

Of course, the weather may play havoc with Wimbledon this year.

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

Aww....he didn't make it. But what a fantastic match. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Konta won her tie-break, so is one set up and they are 2 all in the second set.

Naomi Broady lost the 1st set - they're in a tie-break for the 2nd.

And we now have Heather Watson on Centre Court and has break point in the 4th game - and has just won it. So she's a break up already.

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

Benesova hands Watson 2 break points, but saves them both, then gives her another and saves it....and another break point to Watson, it's saved. Then Benesova gets Advantage, but Watson brings it back to deuce then it's Advantage Benesova - deuce - Advantage Watson - deuce - Advantage Benesova - deuce - Advantage Benesova - deuce - Advantage Watson - deuce - Advantage Watson - deuce - Advantage Watson - deuce - Advantage Watson - deuce - Advantage watson - GAME WATSON! Cracking winning shot.

Watson's now serving for the match!

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

Laura Robson saved four match points before her hopes were snuffed out 2-6 6-4 6-4 by the experienced Francesca Schiavone at Wimbledon.

Robson began well with the 18-year-old's crisp hitting and movement earning two unanswered breaks.

But Schiavone, the 2010 French Open champion, fought back, clinging to a break in the second and surviving a late rally to make the second round.

Robson hit wide after clean winners twice denied Schiavone on match point.

El Loro

Laura Robson will be disappointed by the result although she was playing against a considerably more experienced player. The 4 top British women rankings at the start of Wimbledon were Anne Keothavong 77, Laura Robson shooting up to 97 following a good run at Eastbourne, Elena Baltacha 101, and Heather Watson 103. When the rankings are announced in 2 weeks time Laura Robson's ranking will fall sharply as she got to the second round at Wimbledon last year. On the other hand Heather Watson's ranking will rise quite a lot of places.

I haven't had a chance to see the Murray match until now.

2 - 0

2 - 1

Murray is now serving in the 4th game and has just netted to put the score at 40-30. His next serve wins the game though.

3 - 1 in the 3rd set and has just taken the first two points of Davydenko's serve. Two break points now, but has lost one...and the second.

Deuce - Advantage Davydenko - Game Davydenko, courtesy of a ball into the net by Murray.

ÂĢ -2 3rd Set Murray.

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

Keothavong has taken the 1st set and is currently 3 love up in the second.

Now 3-1

Marches on to 4-1

Keothavong has 2 break points, but loses them both. Advantage Pous-Tio, then deuce then Advantage Keothavong then Game Keothavong

Keothavong is serving for the match, but falls to 0-40 and loses the game.
