I would try to choose the option with least risk of hostility, the less advanced option could possibly be envious of technology and want to take it forcefully... But if we were to get into a fight with more advance 'aliens' they would most certainly win  

It ill end up being some bacteria or something at first anyway. That will be the first 'alien' we meet/discover.

But they may be quite benevolent, maybe having watched us for a while they may wish to help us overcome a few world issues. They may even see us as allies in the universe, a bit like Vulcans in Star Trek.

We have a desire to destroy what we can't own ... kinda thingy

I find it quite interesting that the posts so far are mainly concerned with being 'conquered' or 'conquering' to some extent.

 

I wonder if Hollywood has had an influence in peoples mind set.
