I got her in the doctors this morning thinking it was her tonsils and he said no it was throat ulcers (I've never heard of that) and just told her to gargle aspirin she's in agony bless her, I've just googled it and gargling salt water does seem to be the only answer, if she's no better soon I'm going to take her back to the doctors

Aimee Aspirin is some kind of antiseptic as well as an analgesic - I remember my MiL wanting to rub junior aspirin on my kids teeth when they were teething. She did it to one of my boys and he promptly threw up ........................I'm allergic to aspirin and it turns out so is he.

Sounds horrible - do hope she's better soon.

I can't take aspirin either, it doesn't seem to have done anything so far, she's got big yellow blisters on both sides of her throat

Did the doctor put her on anti biotics. I remember one of my boys having something similar to that ......he was really poorly - it took it out of him. Just after we came back from holiday one year. Can she eat ice lollies - I seem to remember B found that quite soothing.

Awww poor Little Aimee.

I've had ulcers in the throat, but it was linked to glandular fever, she hasn't got that has she? 

Pain in wise, I couldn't swallow anything, so best bet is to buy effervescent pain killers, preferably with codeine in them, then she can drink them and if she's like me the codeine will knock her out.

Poor lil Aims, that sounds really painful. I hope she gets better soon.

I hope the stronger painkillers and throat spray help, Aims.

The link I posted up there ^^^ advises to avoid acidic fruit drinks/foods. Oddly enough - the only two things I am allergic to are Aspirin and Pineapple.

Sorbet might be a soothing option - Soup is always good when you're unwell too. Is she due exams soon? Sometimes stress can lower the immune system.

Awww Aimee that sounds awful!  Being sick is bad enough but when it hurts to swallow liquids then that sounds even worse.  Hope lil Aims gets better quicker than the 10 days x
