Heard about this on YouTube a couple of days ago, but was wary of posting about it here as I didn't want to give the little git the clicks and publicity. It's now been taken down...

YouTube co-star Mazzi Maz: Sam Pepper 'has gone too far'

  • 22 September 2014

YouTube star and ex-Big Brother contestant Sam Pepper is facing criticism over his latest video, which has now been taken down.

The film Fake Hand Ass Pinch Prank follows the 25-year-old on a high street with the arms of his jacket tucked into his pockets.

One of his arms is hidden under his coat so he can pinch women's bums whilst asking for directions.

Mazzi Maz collaborates on YouTube with Sam and thinks he's gone "too far".

He says he didn't know Sam was going to be publishing the video.

"When I saw it, I called him straight away and was like bro, are you feeling OK?"

He says Sam told him he didn't think the video would blow up like this.

"It's a controversial video. What does he expect?

"There are things you just don't do. YouTube is a place where you can get ripped to shreds."

Maz says most of Sam's 2.4 million subscribers are girls.

"We are meant to push the boundaries but you need to know what's right and what's wrong.

"A sexual predator isn't a good look."

The 20-year-old says: "I woke up this morning and wondered if my mum wants to talk to his mum to see if we should still be friends.

"I'm now worried I'll be linked to him. I need to message people to make sure they know we are not the same person.

"I don't want the whole world thinking I am a sexual predator. I like tea and cheese!"

 .

Since the backlash Sam Pepper has reportedly been banned by the organisers of Vidcon and Playlist.

"They are just doing their job," says Maz.

"It's like any other business. When s*** hits the fan it's game over. They don't wanna make their attendees feel unsafe."

Maz says he'll be giving Sam a call to make sure he's OK.

"He's my friend after all. But I don't think I'll be doing any more collaborations with him."

Newsbeat has contacted Sam Pepper, but so far has had no response.

I like how Mazzi Maz is trying to pass 100% of the blame when it says up there that he made the video with Sam thinking he wouldn't make it public.... Hmmm that's OK then Mazzi Maz... I can't stand Sam Pepper, I've stumbled across a few of his videos at times and i just don't get his following he's a muppet!

But i really can't stand a rat that jumps ship on a mate at the first sign of trouble that makes him worse than Sam imo

Yes, yes, yes to all.

Both of them are Arrrrses.

Until recently, I never understood how people made money out of YouTube, but my best mates eldest is apparently making a nice living for a 21 yr old, but not with this kind of stuff, believe it or not by making Xbox or ps4 or whatever gaming videos *I'm on the iPad so I cannot find the WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE emot*

I know what you mean: neither is coming out of this at all well.

I have to say though that the word that's leaping out at me here is "immature". I mean: Mazzi Maz is 20, and Sam's 25, but reading this you'd think they were both still at school. Key line for me:

The 20-year-old says: "I woke up this morning and wondered if my mum wants to talk to his mum to see if we should still be friends."

Wow. Just - wow...

I had given up watching BB11 before Sam Pepper entered so don’t have an opinion of him as a housemate. What I was more aware of was his post-BB twitter activity and huge following – he was something a social media phenomenon.

But even back in 2011 wasn’t he perceived as an unscrupulous character with methods of earning money directly from his devoted fans?

Cold Sweat

I liked him - he reminded me of the Denis Pennis (see YouTube) of Big Brother always on the wind up and he didn't like the Josie and JJ Show - neither did I.

In fact, I couldn't stand the Josie and JJ show.  Couldn't stand Josie, in particular, and he was a complete prick.  Josie did my head in bringing every conversation back to the showmance of her and that knuckle dragging misogynist.  How annoying was her favourite platitude, "It is what it is, it isn't what it isn't"?

I agree with all you say about JJ, but the problem was that Sam Pepper was a misogynistic pr!ck too. However he seemed to largely get away with it because (a) as you say, a lot of viewers were fed up with the "JJJ show", and wanted to see the pair brought down a peg, and (b) he looked and acted a lot younger than he really was.

We saw a similar thing with Sam Evans in BB14: although not as bad as Sam Pepper, he still got away with some dreadfully sexist comments and "humour" because many viewers mistakenly treated him as a teenager instead of an adult in his mid-20s.

The fact is that some of Sam Pepper's behaviour towards Josie was disgusting and way beyond acceptable boundaries, and in an earlier series would probably have got him kicked out (mind you, the same could be said for the fake monk Dave's treatment of Sam, but that's another story). As it was, however, BB had put him in pretty much with the intention of winding Josie and JJ up, so he got a lot of leeway...

There's been a lot of ongoing coverage of this story on DS, but I've not been updating here because there are are far too many "allegedly"s flying around for my liking.

However, it all went mainstream today. C4 News covered the story, and the BBC have confirmed that Sam Pepper was investigated by the LAPD back in July in relation to a "sexual offence", but charges were not filed as the alleged victim refused to testify (C4 said "lack of evidence").
