Many years ago (before 2001) I saw a documentary on television about the Taliban in Afghanistan and their barbaric treatment of ordinary people including women and children. There was a scene in it so utterly horrific that it will stay in my mind for the rest of my life.

This week's atrocity at Peshawar has shown the world that there are no limits to what the Taliban will do. To them, the concept of basic human rights such as the right to life and the right to be educated is meaningless. To them, the sword is mightier than the pen.

Those who have committed the atrocity have not taken heed of the Quran 4 v 93 "If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him."

WTF is going on in their minds?

Why don't you get enough ppl to go on the barricades about this. there's b+gger all point in ranting here when you could do something practical.

Which barricades, where col?   Whats more, I think pirate's comment was uncontroversial and I'm confused as to why you thought that was a rant.

Hello btw.

Oh, I don't know other than what we used to do; go to London in droves and make some noise.

Totally agree. Sadly, those days of citizen protest are long gone. Persuading anyone even to fill in an election ballot seems to be too challenging for most. In May next year we will get the answer to voting apathy I fear.

I think we'll have to live with that for decades. Things have changed, but not for the better.
