I HAVE NOTICED THAt my wee pal Mr.Jinks the budgie is not too well lately ,he has been picking at at his feathers etc,now birds feathers grow from a quill sheath usually with no problem,my wee guy seems to have stopped the process.In the last few weeks he has been picking at his back with blood flowing etc.in a small bird this is a major blood loss...Took him to the vet today ,she said he looks like he has a tumour on his lower back..Wahhh! 
She said if they tried to take a sample,he would have to be knocked out,and with his age etc ,he might not survive the test..So I have him home and will know when his quality of life ain't good.He's eating well etc and flying round..my wee boy is eleven and a half years old..a great age the vet said for a budgie..hang in there wee man.

He's doing OK,eating well pooping etc,still flying around,I'll phone the vet back and see what she says.

My friend's lil pumpkin Bertie died recently
She's wanted a puppy for ages and bought him in a rush.
I don't know all the details but she's too upset to challenge his breeding credentials.

Now she does Yogi - she said his tummy swelled and was on a drip but never recovered.
She bought him in a hurry as he was the last one. I don't think she checked out the breeder thoroughly
That's a shame Saint.Sadly there is still a lot of puppy farms out there,breeding dogs with health and genetic problems.

Well my wee guy is hanging in there,he had a picking at his back and it bled,fortunately I noticed it right away.caught him ,put a little pressure on the bleed and sealed it with cornflour.I do know it's twilight time for him.He' s still talking ,flying etc,I'm monitoring closely.

Yea Baz but he's the age of an 80 year old human. my wee old boy.
I do Baz...just like I looked after the bunnies etc.However it's down to luck at times,some pets live a long a long time some dont.
