KATIE PRICE: Is giving nothing away

Wednesday November 11,2009

By Elisa Roche

HIDING behind huge sunglasses, Katie Price was giving nothing away about her rumoured move to the Βjungle as she made her way through Heathrow last night.

The model-turned-businesswoman, 31, is said to have been tempted back to the new series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! by a Β£500,000 pay cheque.

She starred in the ITV1 show five years ago when she flirted on-screen with Peter Andre, whom she eventually went on to marry. The couple divorced earlier this year.

Also leaving Heathrow yesterday was former EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin, 39, who checked in for an unknown destination.

TV names who have been confirmed for the hit reality programme include television’s gay interior design couple Colin McAllister, 41, and Justin Ryan, 42.

The pair, who were married in a civil ceremony last year, have been together for 22 years and divide their time between Glasgow and Canada, where they are also TV stars.

How Clean Is Your House? star Kim Woodburn, 67, also jetted to Australia yesterday afternoon, joking that she was hoping for a nice, relaxing β€œholiday”. But the cleaning fanatic, who is, so far, the oldest contestant to Βconfirm her place in the show, could be in for a shock.

This year’s contestants will face gruesome school dinner-themed β€œbushtucker trials”, which will involved eating worms and grubs from a special camp β€œtuck shop”.

Also joining the line-up is former Page Three girl Samantha Fox, 43, Strictly dancer Camilla Dallerup, 35, former Scots footballer Colin Hendry, 44, and ex-Misteeq singer Sabrina Washington, 31.

Washington used to sing in the chart-topping girl band alongside Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon, also 31. Former World Snooker champion Jimmy White, 47, has also been rumoured for a jungle jaunt.

Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, 29, has already been made odds-on favourite to win by an Irish bookmaker. He was married to Kerry Katona when she won the 2004 series on which Katie and Peter first met.

Tucker trial too tough

I'M A CELEB bosses were in a panic last night amid fears some Bushtucker Trials are too hard.

One was set to see an older male - said to be American - and older British woman sent for an overnighter on an island.

But in a dry run, the stand-in fella walked out, protesting it was too tough. Each year stand-ins are used to ensure the trials go smoothly ahead of the real series.

Producers have also been trying to give classic challenges a twist.

Private Parts
One possibility is getting the celebs to eat the private parts of a FEMALE kangaroo as well as the traditional male ones. Last year's stars feasted on a crocodile's naughty bits.

Colin and Justin on I'm A Celebrity

Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister have signed up for I'm A Celebrity

TV makeover stars Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan are heading to the Australian jungle for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, it has been confirmed.
The ITV1 show begins this weekend and a friend of Colin and Justin confirmed the Scottish couple were taking part, saying: "Yes, it's true - they are on their way now."

Colin and his civil partner Justin - who found fame on BBC Two show The Million Pound Property Experiment and who have also hosted ITV's 60 Minute Makeover - will apparently join figures such as Samantha Fox and How Clean Is Your House star Kim Woodburn, who are reported to be jetting Down Under for this year's Bushtucker Trials.

The series, which will again be presented by Ant and Dec, previously featured a couple in 2004 when Vic Reeves and Nancy Sorrell took part.

Jungle celebs go Down Under

THIS year's crop of jungle celebs couldn't have looked more pleased with themselves as they arrived Down Under.

Former EastEnder Lucy Benjamin smiled for snappers as she stepped off the plane at Brisbane International Airport while How Clean Is Your House star Kim Woodburn pipped her to the post, being the first to arrive.

Arriving in LA today ... Jordan
BIG

Telly makeover star Colin McAllister still managed to lark about with partner Justin Ryan, despite being bruised and bandaged up after tripping over the night before.

Movie star George Hamilton clasped his hands together as if he was praying - perhaps that glamour girls Sam Fox and Jordan wouldn't cause too many fights.

Snooker star Jimmy White, singer Sabrina Washington, former Hollyoaks star Stuart Manning, celeb chef Gino D'Acampo and Strictly Come Dancing's Camilla Dallerup will also star in the ITV1 show.

Jordan, 31, is getting FIVE times as much cash as the others - even though she's arriving in the jungle a week later.

She stepped off the plane at Los Angeles Airport where is spending a few days beforehand and will appear on a US TV show, Chelsea Lately.

Tongues are wagging that the other contestants are fuming about their raw deal, but they managed to keep a lid on it yesterday.

Pete: I'm glad Jordan's gone

Peter Andre
PETER Andre revealed he's glad Jordan is going back to the jungle.

The Aussie singer is delighted to get rid of his ex-wife for a while - because it means he gets to look after their kids.

Pete, 36, told fans on his Twitter page today: "I'm very excited ladies and gents cos as of later tonight I get the kiddies for a whole month.....yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeee."

She will turn up in the bush a week after the other celebs - despite getting paid five times more than the other contestants to take part.

The mum-of-three will pocket Β£350,000 for her time on the ITV1 series, while the other stars receive about Β£65,000 each.

Katie, 31, met Pete when they both appeared on the show in 2004.

She will compete against Sam Fox, Lucy Benjamin, George Hamilton, Kim Woodburn, celeb chef Gino D'Acampo, Stuart Manning, Jimmy White, Sabrina Washington, Camilla Dallerup and telly makeover couple Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister.

It's thought she's determined to get the public back on her side after her popularity nose-dived since her split from Pete in May.

But in a Sun online poll, 89 per cent of the 12,000 people who voted thought going back in the jungle WON'T help her public image.

Meanwhile, Pete revealed today that he is going on Gordon Ramsay's show, The F Word.

He follows in the footsteps of Jordan, who went on the Channel 4 show earlier this month.

Stars appear in Australia for I’m a Celebrity?

Chef Gino D'Acampo and legendary actor George Hamilton have been spotted arriving in Australia with it appearing likely that they’re set to star on I'm A Celebrity..., which starts on Sunday.

34-year-old D'Acampo and 70-year-old Hamilton are the latest showbiz names in the frame to enter the jungle and take on the horrors of the Bushtucker Trials.

How Clean Is Your House? star Kim Woodburn has also arrived in Australia at Brisbane Airport - and said that she won’t clean up after everyone in the show.

She explained: β€œThis is a holiday for me. I’m looking forward to experiencing Australia but I’m not going to need my Marigolds.”

Katie Price is also reportedly set for a shock return to the jungle where she met Peter Andre.

The mother of three has been apparently offered Β£450,000 to go on the new series of I'm a Celebrity, dwarfing the Β£60,000 that this morning was reportedly used to woo Samantha Fox to the show.

Others rumoured recently to be joining her include Scottish home decorating stars Colin and Justin.

The couple, who currently host Colin and Justin's Home Heist on UKTV Style, are apparently set to earn Β£65,000 each for their stint in the jungle.

This year’s I’m A Celebrity… stars revealed

Thursday 12 November, 2009

There’s two glamour models, an ex-EastEnder, a snooker pro and a Mis-Teeq singer! Find out who will be joining them here

Yes, it's that time of year again. ITV's reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is back for another season with a brand new line-up.

Glamour girl Samantha Fox will join Katie Price, aka Jordan, (who will be the first ever person to re-enter the jungle), as well as interior design-duo Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan and ex EastEnder's actress Lucy Benjamin, for the three week stint in the Australian jungle.

Also appearing on the show will be Mis-Teeq singer Samantha Washington, Strictly Come Dancing winner Camilla Dallerup, How Clean Is Your Home presenter Kim Woodburn and snooker ace Jimmy White.

Ex-Hollyoaks star Stuart Manning, Gino D'Acampo and American actor George Hamilton will also make up the 11-strong group.

Ant and Dec will, once again, be on hand to take the contestants through a number of gruelling bushtucker trials, which ITV have warned will be harder than ever this year.

Each star will no doubt be vying for public votes to be crowned I'm A Celeb winner, just like previous winners Joe Swash from last year's show, Kerry Katona from 2004 and Matt Willis in 2006.

I’m A Celebrity 2009: Camilla Dallerup won’t go naked

camilladallerup

Camilla Dallerup has insisted that she will not shower naked on I’m A Celebrity but she may provide us with some cracking bikini shots.

β€œMyleene looked fantastic and I think she did come across so lovely on the show. I think it is important to get a bikini because I certainly will not be showering naked,” she said.

β€œI shall find one that doesn’t fall down when you’re showering. But, I have heard that the water is quite cold.”

Dallrup also admitted that she hopes to wile away some of the hours in jungle camp, by organising a dance competition for the celebrities.

I’m A Celebrity: Sam Fox will stand up to Katie Price

The I’m A Celebrity females have reportedly made a pact to stand up to Katie Price, when she enters their jungle camp.

The Daily Star reports that former glamour model Sam Fox made a pact with dancer Camilla Dallerup and singer Sabrina Washington about how they will respond to Katie when she arrives.

A source said: β€œTo say Jordan is going to be met with some hostility is an understatement. She’s already put people’s noses out of joint and she hasn’t even set foot in Australia yet.

β€œIf she thinks she is going to strut in and run the show, she is in for a massive shock because these lot, especially Sam, are not going to bow down to her. Sam has been there, done that and got the T-shirt, so she’s not going to be a pushover.”

'I'm A Celeb' to include a love island

'I'm A Celeb' to include a love island

ITV

Two I'm A Celebrity... stars will be allowed to visit a "love island", according to tabloid reports.

One male and one female contestant will be challenged to "swim across shark-infested waters" to an island, where they must complete a task to win food.

Afterwards, the couple will be forced to sleep under a canopy while the remaining contestants spend the night on a yacht with champagne.

Producers were apparently hoping that veteran actor George Hamilton and How Clean Is Your House? presenter Kim Woodburn, 67, would participate in the task, but are concerned that they will not be fit enough.

"It will be tough but it will also be quite romantic sleeping out under the stars," a source told The Sun. "We wanted George and Kim but when we tried it with two older stand-ins, they said it was too tough for older people."

It has also been revealed that the celebrities will be split into two groups, with one team skydiving into camp while the rest must travel on horses.

I'm A Celebrity... returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.

I'm A Celebrity bosses have hatched a secret plan to introduce Katie Price's lover Alex Reid into the jungle camp, a report has claimed. Sources told a tabloid newspaper that they plan to surprise Katie by introducing her boyfriend into the show.

Show bosses believe that the move will "shock" the glamour model, as she has told them that she is looking forward to spending some time away from the cage fighter.

The insider told the Daily Star that Reid is glad that he is being given the opportunity to appear on the reality TV show.

A source said: "Alex is desperate to do the show. He reckons it will be the perfect way to show viewers that he is not the freak he has been painted as.

"And obviously the thought of getting it on with Kate in the jungle is a definite plus point."

I'm A Celeb bosses have confirmed that they are hopeful that some of the contestants on this year's show will share some romance.

Show producer Marty Benson said: "We have installed a swing away from the camp and we hope there will be some canoodling."

The 11 celebs include Dynasty star George Hamilton, chef Gino D'Acampo, 80s glamour model Sam Fox and dancer Camilla Dallerup.

'I'm A Celebrity' stars swim with sharks

'I'm A Celebrity' stars swim with sharks

A couple of the contestants taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! have reportedly been challenged to swim to a deserted island through shark-infested waters.

The 11 stars were asked to board a luxury yacht so they could be whisked away for an exotic photoshoot, The Mirror reports.

However, presenters Ant and Dec later revealed that there was a twist, and the group was asked to choose one man and one woman to swim to a desert island through shark-infested waters.

Executive producer Chris Bogden said: "We've had to increase the safety equipment for this challenge to go ahead.

"We upped the sonar surveillance on the boat and we made sure that there are shark nets surrounding the island - but the celebrities don't know that. Great white sharks have been spotted in the area recently."

The names of the chosen celebrities are a closely guarded secret, but the trial will be aired on the first show of the series at 9pm on ITV1 tomorrow.

Ant & Dec 'excited about 'I'm A Celeb'

Ant & Dec 'excited about 'I'm A Celeb'

ITV

Ant & Dec have claimed that they are excited about the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The programme's hosts told The Sun that they enjoy the surprise element of the show.

"We're both so excited the show's started," Dec said. "George Hamilton's one we've got our eye on and we might have some fun with Kim Woodburn as well, but you never know with I'm A Celebrity. No-one would ever have thought [on last year's show that] David Van Day would be the funniest thing on TV."

The pair added that they loved this year's first challenge, which saw two celebrities swim through shark-infested waters and camp overnight on a desert island.

"They drew straws to decide who should go overboard, and two of them weren't best pleased," Dec said. "That's why we love doing this show. The surprises."

Former EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin and Page 3 model Sam Fox are among the contestants on this year's series, which starts tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!: Latest gossip

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! may be the call from the Australian rainforest after the latest bunch of famous names set up camp.

The 11 stars found out who they would be living with when they enjoyed fruit cocktails and canapes on a luxury yacht - but they were soon facing their first dilemma.

The group was asked to choose one man and one woman to jump into the sea and swim to a nearby island where they would spend the night and face the first challenge.

Undecided, they drew straws and the losers were former topless model Sam Fox and chef Gino D'Acampo, who jumped into the water while the other celebrities headed back to their hotels for one last night of luxury.

Meanwhile, Fox and D'Acampo spent the night on camp beds, although Fox, who enjoyed a short pop career, entertained the television chef with a performance of her hit Touch Me (I Want Your Body).

The next morning the pair tested their nerve against crabs, an octopus, water spiders and eels to win food and beds for the celebrity camp.

The nine remaining celebrities found themselves split into teams as they made their way to the camp which will be their home for the next three weeks.

Snooker player Jimmy White, dancer Camilla Dallerup, former Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning and interior designer Justin Ryan were given horses and told to get trekking.

Dallerup, who has been frightened of horses since she fell while riding at the age of five, said: "If you'd asked me last week if I would get on a horse I would have said 'absolutely no way'."

Novice rider White struggled to command his horse, but told the others: "The horse I was on was just taking his time."

Ryan's TV partner Colin McAllister, actress Lucy Benjamin and former Mis-teeq singer Sabrina Washington were taken up in a plane but were then told they had to jump out at 12,000ft.

While Benjamin and Washington panicked, McAllister joked, "this is better than Botox".

He tidied his hair before saying he was jumping "for Scotland" and leaping out of the door, prompting Benjamin to scream.

The former EastEnders actress screamed again when it was her turn to jump.

The final two celebrities, actor George Hamilton and How Clean Is Your House? presenter Kim Woodburn, were told to make their way to camp on foot.

Hamilton praised Woodburn for setting a good pace.

She replied: "We're definitely going to lose some weight, aren't we?

"Can you see my figure? I'll be a Grecian Goddess and you'll be like a Grecian God."

:: The ninth series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! starts on ITV1 at 9pm tonight.

I'm really disappointed Katie Price is going again. Even more so, that it is rumoured her boyfriend may be joining them.

She's had her go, why would I want to see her again, and I reckon the reputed amount she is being paid is ridiculous!
Hope she gets voted off first, after doing one or more hard and nasty tasks!

Ohhhhh, I'm getting nasty already.

It might make a bit of conflict likely with Katie there, don't think Alex will be going in though.
And we don't know what she is being paid really it might just be the papers making it up, don't think they would release those details myself.
