Glad you are improving Hicky.

Good luck at the dentist tomorrow.

Hi Mollie.

It poured all day, so no work done.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the roads aren't flooded.

It's supposed to be drier on Wednesday and Thursday, but the grass is likely to still be wet, but I'll have to see what i can get done.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a touch of frost, especially in the north of Scotland.

I see that report says it's supposed to be warmer on Sunday, but I'll not count my chickens yet.

The only good thing is that with this cold weather the grass won't be growing much, so I'm unlikely to get too far behind.

No idea how long I'll need to keep taking the medication? Still getting symptoms at the moment anyway. I'm just hoping this thing might burn itself out within a few months, but no sign of that yet.

As you say, just rubbish on the telly again.

I stuck to CH 5 tonight, so Police Interceptors, Dog rescuers, Benefits by the Sea and Botched Up Bodies.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Had to put 2 copies up as you are on 2 pages.

Mollie, waterworks getting better by the day, blood seems to have gone at last, still stinging a bit.

Dentist was ok, he just smoothed off a couple of edges, sorted.

Went back to wearing my normal clothes today to see how it was, it was ok.

Emptybox, it was a strange day here, not a day to sit out and enjoy it.

You may get a little frost as well.

As long as you are getting the symptoms then i suppose you must keep taking the meds

Been watching Storage Hunters, have dozens recorded anyway.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad your improvement continues, and the blood in the urine has stopped.

Good you didn't need much done at the dentist.

If you've just gone back to your normal clothes, whose clothes have you been wearing up to now, one wonders?

I presume you mean you have been wearing looser clothes because of the op?

Not too bad day here actually. Mostly dry and with a bit of sun. Warmer than Monday and Tuesday, that's for sure, even though there was a wee shower mid afternoon.

Got a couple of places cut. As I predicted, the grass was fairly wet, but at least I've got something done.

No idea about TV tonight?

emptybox

both

Hicky

glad the dentist sorted you out easily.

You are doing so well if the blood has gone now, and you only have a little stinging, because only such a short period has passed since your op. And how nice to be back in your normal clothes again.

Do you plan on eating out soon?

A few weeks ago we tried Nandos, have you evern been there? We all enjoyed it.

Emptybox

Glad it was dry enough to get a few jobs done. Hopefully it will warm up soon, else I think we better all pack our bags and buy a cheapo house in Spain.

Hopefully your condition will disappear over time, so you can review the medication,

Struggling for tv shows again, aren't we?

I went for neighbours from Hell. some weird people around arent' there?

Now watching the Baby show on ch 4.

It is set not far from you HIcky, as it is in the Liverpool Women's hospital, but of course that is not one of the hospitals you were in.

My day off from mum today, and it sounds mean, but by a Wednesday, I really need it. I still ring her flat a few times though to see how she is with the carers. Fortunately carer said she was quite a bit better today, went out and ate all her ice cream, did cough a bit, but not much.
Gave me chance to catch up with some washing/cleaning and student finance forms I need to do for the kids. The grant they get depends on our earnings, which should be a good grant thankfully as the last year OH didn't earn much. In Wales we still have to pay part of the Uni fees though, but not as much as in England, but not free like Scotland either. Luckily the college BTec fees are still free here though.

Well odd visit to dentist with son today. He had a small filling patched up, and I decided to go in surgery with him to ask dentist about this extraction due next week, as son is quiet and doesn't ask much. I asked her why it had to be taken out if it was not hurting him, and she said it could stay like that and be fine even though it was damaged, or it might or might not give him problems further down the line, so he could decide if he wanted it out or not. And of course he said not out! I think he is right as right now he has nothing to gain. Dentist said if it does start hurting, then ring surgery and she will take it out.

Back to the baby show. I don't watch it with daughter as I read watching it is putting some young women off having a baby. But of course being a tv show you do tend to see the more complicated deliveries.

Have a good evening both.

Hi Mollie.

Yes, I'm sure you need a break from looking after your Mum every few days.

Didn't realise they still did student grants. I thought it was all loans nowadays.

Pity that Wales doesn't have the same system as Scotland as regards fees.

Mind you I think the SNP in Scotland are heading for a fall with some of this free stuff.

Prescriptions in Scotland are free, but the NHS in Scotland is even more strapped for cash than in the rest of the UK, so they might be forced to change some of the policies.

I think a small payment of say ÂĢ5 per month for meds wouldn't hurt me anyway.

Good news that your son needn't have a tooth extraction at the moment. Hopefully it won't cause him any pain.

I watched the Neighbours from Hell prog as well, but then I watched the thing on the Post Office changes on BBC2.

My local village lost it's Post Office a couple of years ago, and it's now in the pub a couple of mornings a week. I just drive into town though.

Evening Both.

A funny sort of a day here, started cool then warmed a bit but not what it should be.

Emptybox, Just got the stinging now to get rid of, hope i haven't got an infection.

The clothes i was wearing were very loose type, elastic waist, no belt and big enough to get the incontinence pad in.

At least you got some work done, thats a help.

Mollie, We went to the Toby Inn for a Carvery today, it's by Arrow Park, used to be called the Cherry Orchard, it was good for the money, only ÂĢ13 with drinks.

Never tried Nandos.

Of course you need a day off, it can get too much for anyone.

Hicky

both x

Hicky

hope the stinging eases and isn't an infection. If it carries on, I guess you best mention it to your GP?

I thought your  meal might of been a Toby. We like to go there, but have also found if you go the wrong time of time the food is all dried out, and sometimes the chef cuts off and give you end pieces of meat. Shame because at times it is lovely and not expensive either. We went last week on a Friday evening and all the food at that time was fresh and delicious. If you register with them, you get special discount vouchers too.

Funny day weather wise here too because even though it was a bit cloudy we had some sun too, but it only got up to around 18, and is going down to 7 tonight, which is a lot cooler than normal for this time of year.

Emptybox

yes they do loans for uni fees, but also do grants to help for living costs that vary according to parents incomes. We have free prescriptions here for all too, which the same is costing a lot on the cash strapped nhs budget. Such a lot of wasteage too. eg with mum's takes me ages to get what she needs, then I end up getting too much of it and can't stop it being delivered.

Did you get in your gardens today?

It is a shame they are closing so many small post offices.

At last managed to get washing dry without showers.

Mum not too bad today, at least I got her to eat. But her mobility is worse, the girls are struggling to get her to stand now.

OH working from home tomorrow, which is nice as he misses all the holiday traffic coming into Wales that we get real bad on Fridays.

Watching a programme about Rob Rhydon on bbc2 and my son's drama teacher is on it, (same great teacher who taught Rob and Ruth Jones). And the theatre son performs in was on. Rob said he would come to their next production which is West Side story, the first one that Rob appeared in too. Hope son gets a part in it. Auditiions will be next term.

Watching 999 now, looks quite interesting.

When I rang them the other week they kept me on the phone asking for changes in mum's breathing till the ambulence arrived, they were very quick though. What a good job they do, dedicated.

They were great with me too when I had to call them out, and they took me in.

Goodnight both x

M

Evening.

Not bad day here, dry with some sun. Got cold quickly this evening though.

Got some more places cut.

I would think the stinging is likely just the aftermath of the operation Hicky, rather than an infection, unless you are having other symptoms?

Hi Mollie, that's interesting about Rob Brydon and your son's drama teacher. Hope he gets a part in the play then. Don't think that prog was on in Scotland.

Didn't realise you had free prescriptions in Wales too.

That's good, that your OH is working from Home tomorrow.

For the record, I haven't tried Nandos either.

I don't even know what they are?

Watched Traffic Cops on BBC1, then the prog on CH4 about Prince Philip.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Went for breo the Toby Carvery, ÂĢ3.99 breakfast buffet, 10 items eat all you want, not bad at all, did me anyway.

Just did a few bits in the garden, not a lot to do of course.

Still got some stinging but i'm hoping it will go.

Still waiting for the Pavement to be done, it shouldn't be long now.

Mollie, not very warm today, got to 17C but it was quite cool this morning.

Had a look at a pot that had a Mango pip in it and under the cover was a little tree trying to get out, have uncovered it and will see if i can help it to grow, it's been in the pot for quite a few weeks now, i had forgotten about it.

Thats handy having O/H working from home.

Emptybox, it probably is the aftermath of the operation, just annoying, if it lasts too long i will speak to the doc.

O/H has 2 weeks holiday from this Sunday, that will be good.

Hicky

both x

Hicky

that will be nice for your OH to have a break from work for a couple of weeks. HOpe the weather is good, and hope you can make plenty of nice brekkies out together. 10 items is certainly a good choice.

I guess some stinging so soon after such a big op is to be expected, but yes wise to mention to doc if it goes on for too long.

Only went up to 18 here today too.

that is amazing that a little mango pip is starting to grow like that.

Emptybox

glad to hear you are still managing to get on work wise. Yes I think Rob Rydon things was only on Welsh bbc.

Went to Cardiff this afternoon to buy a few clothes in the sales. Some good bargains around, bought the carer 2 pretty tops... ÂĢ5 for both. She'll love them. And bought myself some more leggings. then we went to Nandos. I had a lovely veggie burger wrap with coleslaw and mash and rest of family had spicy chicken. I think it is supposed to be based on Mexican food, but you can choose how much spice you have. I have none, as can't do spice since I had that throat op. but don't mind, enjoyed it anyway. Here it is..

http://www.nandos.co.uk/

Mum lot better again today, day centre said she ate cooked meal and pudding, then they wheeled her down Macdonalds and she has ice cream then later carer took her down seafront and she ate another ice cream. She is so up and down, part of her condition and her age I think.

Absolute garbage on tv again,,

roll on CBB.

goodnight both x

M

Hi both.

Not bad day here, except for a heavy shower around noon which dampened my enthusiasm for a while, but quickly dried up to allow me to get on.

Supposed to be a nice day for me tomorrow, so i might do some more work.....or i might not bother.

Hi Hicky, glad you enjoyed your brekkie out.

Great that you got the mango pip to grow.

Bet your OH is looking forward to a fortnight's off.

I have read up on your op, mainly because if my condition gets worse, it might be offered to me, and seemingly it takes about a week for the scab on the prostate to come off, and that might cause a bit more bleeding (and probably discomfort?), but then things should settle down after that.

Hi Mollie.

Ah, so Nandos is a restaurant? I thought it might be a foodstuff like Nachos.

(not really. Just being silly)

That was nice of you, buying the carer some tops . Hope she's got the same taste for colours as you?

Yes it's warm during the day but chilly at nights. More like Autumn than late July.

I'd hoped the cold nights would have caused the bats to leave early, but no, they are still wheeling about at sunset, if I go out of the front door.

Watched Location, Location (repeat) then Ripper Street on BBC1. Not bad.

evening Both.

It rained most of the day off and on, couldn't really get anything done, will try tomorrow.

Stinging has gone less it seems. only 15C here today.

Sounds like it was worth going to Cardiff, good prices,

Glad your mum was better today, she would enjoy going to the seafront.

I've been watching the cooking programs and the Women's Open Golf.

Emptybox, yes, have tried growing a mango tree many times, i did have a couple take then they died.

Hopefully this one won't.

I see what you say about the prostrate scabbing over, if the scab comes off it may bleed again, but the scab shouldn't come off until there is new skin underneath.

Hicky

Evening Emptybox.

Been watching the Golf, those females are so good.

the little ones came, gave them some pea pods, they can just open and eat the peas.

Not going to grow the Strawberries again, the shop ones in season are far better.

The home grown ones seem to give you a big one first off each plant then they go smaller and smaller.

I gave a little one a cucumber, he just ate it walking around.

Stinging isn't as bad, still a little blood at the start of a wee, it might be how or what i am sitting on.

I watched a program about the Pyramids and the way they were built.

My Onions seem to be doing ok, got about 90 which look good, not sure if the carrots i put between them will be any good.

Lots of baby Figs on the main Fig tree.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Not bad day here. Maybe a little rain, but nothing to speak of.

Glad your youngsters appreciate your home grown veg.

Yeah, home grown strawberries can be very hit and miss.

Haven't been watching the golf.

Saw the last part of the programme about Tutankhamen, which was followed by a repeat of that pyramid building prog that you saw.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Not a bad day, had a couple of showers, went out to a garden centre this afternoon, O/H wasn't impressed with her meal.

My baby Mango tree now has 5 leaves, didn't expect it to grow when i planted the seed from a Mango I ate.

O/H has 2 weeks off work so we will be going out for days, one day going to see her sister.

One day going to Dobbies in Liverpool, a rather big garden centre.

Like this, food halls, heaven knows what.

https://www.dobbies.com/summer/

Hope Mollie's not getting stressed.

My prostrate behave today while i was out, need to go to the loo before bladder tells me.

Used an Urinal today, 1st for 4Â― months.

It's still healing, will just have to be patient.

Hicky

both

Hicky

hope we get some nice weather for a couple of weeks now as your OH is off. The Dobbies afternoon tea menu looks nice.

Sounds like you are progessing so well after your op, but as you say, you have to be patient and give your body enough time to recover.

Gosh you certainly have plenty of onions.

Emptybox

Glad you have had a couple of good days weather wise, as I know you need to press on work wise. (especially after paying out so much for the van!).

Had good weather over the weekend here, only the odd quick shower, so me and the carers were able to take mum out, so she had 2 ice creams on seafront on Sat and Sunday. And I had one of those hot donuts you get from the funfair ...yummy...

The new carer from the other agency came and she is experienced and efficient and keen to take mum out, so hopefully all will go well this weekend as we are going to visit OH's family in North Wales on Friday for 2 nights. Son staying here to look after pets. Luckily he is quiet, so not the sort to have mad parties, he prefers to play online gaming with his mates.

Not much on tv as usual this summer.

I am watching a travel show in itv about Thailand. Not a place I would ever, nor have ever, fancied visiting. The huts they are staying on in the beach look hideous, they visited a snake place, now seeing a lady boy show, oh and getting covered in insect bites. Not my scene at all. When we lived in Oz it was known as a place for a cheapo breaks mainly for many students.

Can't believe we are into August, doesn't seem like summer has started, been so cool for so long. But the good thing is we have not had a lot of rain, so shouldn't complain as I am not keen on excessive heat either.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening both.

Nice warm day here, with just a little breeze, so I was able to get on.

Funnily the grass in a couple of places had hardly grown, probably because of the recent cold nights, but in another place it had fair sprouted up. Not sure why.

Hi Hicky. Glad you are getting better, and are now able to use the urinal as normal.

As you say, you just have to be patient.

Wasn't feeling so good myself over the weekend and this morning. Quite a few symptoms, but feeling more myself tonight.

Hope you can make the most of your OH's holiday with plenty of days out.

Mollie, glad you had the weather to get on the seafront, and your Mum enjoyed her usual ice creams.

Hope you don't get any unexpected phone calls when you are visiting your OH's family this weekend.

I'm due to get a family visit this weekend, so I'll have to make sure the house is ship shape.

No I wouldn't like to go to Thailand either. Far too hot for me.

My cousin went round all that area - Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo when she was a late teenager, and loved it. (she's mid 40's now )

Watched 'Life in Squares' on BBC2 (no better than last week), then 'Under the Dome' on 5.

emptybox

sorry you have been feeling a bit off, let's hope the off days become less and less as time passes.

Glad you got a nice day and a bit of work done, how strange the gardens have not been growing so much. You'd think the rain would of bought it on, but must be down to cold weather as you say.

Good luck with all the housework ready for the visitors. Have you planned the menu yet? The strawberries are still very good quality this time of year, so can recommend them.

hope Hicky is still progressing well today health wise, and enjoying his OH's summer holiday time with her.

Today had loads of paperwork to do for student finance, lucky our accountant is real good so scanned in the stuff I needed straight away. Had lots of forms to do for care agency too, then carer told me the reason they wanted it quick, was that the inspector is coming for the annual inspection tomorrow. They are a good agency though, so shouldn't have any problems.

What rubbis tv is right now. Roll on CBB.

Have lots of shopping/washing to do tommorrow ready for weekend away. I need to make sure mum had plenty of food in her flat whilst we are away, also pets are well supplied and our lad staying at home looking after them has food too. Asked him what he wanted and he said pizza, crisps, milk and bread....  doesn't sound like he intends to spend all weekend cooking then. He'll be far too busy gaming.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Hi Mollie.

Funny weather here today. Cloudy and very windy this morning, but calmer with sunshine this afternoon.

Got a big job done this afternoon.

Think I might just give my visitors spag bol, as they are coming on a Saturday?

Not sure about sweet? Might do strawberries?

All that paperwork sounds boring. But has to be done I suppose.

I'm sure Mum, pets and son will be fine for food, while you are away.

Watched the prog on ITV about Cilla Black. Very sad the way she went.

Then watched Botched Up Bodies. Then a recording of 'Humans' from Sunday.

Have either you or Hicky upgraded to Windows 10 yet?

Hicky, I remember you said you'd reserved the download.

I haven't tried to upgrade any of my computers yet, but I've been trying out the preview in a virtual machine, so I know what it's like.

Can't work up any enthusiasm for it TBH.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Mustn't have posted yesterday, probably with going to bed so early.

Went to Costco Tuesday, got a small low table and e chairs for the grand children, it's for on the decking, they like to draw on a low table.

Today i was trying to sort my prescription out as the doc is off sick.

Then we went to the Butty van at B&Q, got a brekkie in a takeaway carton, had it in the car, then went to a garden centre and had a strawberry & cream thingy.

Bought some lights for round the gazebo but a piece is missing to fix the solar unit, will have to go back.

Been fixing angled blocks to support and fix the Polycarbonate sheet on the gazebo when we get it, have found a place i can get it from and it's free delivery and ÂĢ100 cheaper.

We need this desperate with this dreadful weather we are having.

Mollie, enjoy your stay in North Wales, handy having your son to look after the pets.

I agree, August all ready and weather awful, i don't want it too hot either but this is not what we expect.

Emptybox, still got a long way to go until can get control of passing water again, i can have to go before i need to if i wait till i want to it is too late.

My baby Mango tree is still growing, it has 6 baby leaves, have put the heating back on in the summer house to give it a chance.

Am going over to O/H's sister in the morning for a cup of tea and a natter.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

yes spag bol as it is a Saturday sounds a good idea and something you are expert at making by now. Followed by some nice strawberries and cream. Perhaps a bit of shortbread with it too would be nice.

Hicky

Pity you have to take your lights back. The kiddies table sounds nice, all we need is plenty of good weather for them to be able to enjoy it now.

ÂĢ100 cheaper, that is a tidy difference, good job you found it.

Enjoy your visit to SIL tomorrow.

Just when I thought I would be all organised for our couple of nights away, accountant emailed last night and asked for vat papers as she is off next week...

So have been real busy today and have to rush to finish it tomorrow.
Sent daughter to get food shopping and will drag son in to help me photocopy tomorrow, Then look after mum, take her home to bed and pack my bags..

I'll be done in by the time we leave.

But it will be a nice change and hopefully mum, pets, lad at home will all be ok for a couple of nights.

If I am not around tomorrow, you'll know why, I get back lateis Sunday.

Hope the visit goes well Emptybox and they enjoy your cooking.

HOpe your health continues to improve Hicky.

goodnight xx

M

Hi guys.

Not bad day here. Not much sun, but quite warm.

Pity there was something missing from the lights you bought Hicky.

But at least you had a couple of meals out.

Sounds like you have found a good deal on those polycarbonate sheets.

Hopefully it'll be just a matter of time before you get full control of your waterworks again.

Mollie, enjoy your visit to north Wales.

Pity you have all that last minute VAT stuff, on top of all your other preparations.

Watched BBC2 tonight. Not very interesting though. Space Junk, then the prog about the Post Office changes.

Then watched one of my recordings.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Had a nice day out, SIL lives about an hour away, was glad we weren't held up in case i needed loo.

SIL had made some food for us which was nice.

Next week we are going over again and going to a farm market with them.

I have ordered a couple of the Urine bottle like they have in hospital but with a cap.

It's dodgy going out far in the car without one really.

Still passing blood, some anyway, and a clot last night, thought it was a fish coming down the pipe.

Have ordered the fixings for the Gazebo sheet.

Have a nice break Mollie, see you on your return.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad you had a good day at the SiL's

Cloudy and dull most of the day, with a couple of drizzly showers this morning, but a wee bit of sun this afternoon. Got a few places done.

I was thinking of getting one of those urine bottles myself, as sometimes I can only go an hour without peeing, depending on how I'm feeling.

At the moment I've got a plastic milk bottle in the car for emergencies (luckily I haven't needed it yet), but it's not really suitable.

I should be going South to visit my relatives in Norfolk this Autumn, so it would be handy to have in the car.

Hopefully that clot was part of the scab on the prostate, and you shouldn't get much more blood coming.

If you are still getting it in a few days I would think about mentioning it to the Doc?

Not sure what's on TV tonight? Think it's Location, Location, Location at 8, but can't remember what I was going to watch at 9pm.

No doubt it'll all become clear?

emptybox

both

Hicky

well it is a good job you didn't give birth to a fish after all. But hopefully the bleeding will stop soon, I know it took awhile for my bleeding to stop after I had an op. But you are doing so well to travel that far in the car with the op not being that long ago.

Good idea to get a special bottle though, as with the UK roads, you never know when you are going to get stuck in traffic.

It will be nice for you to visit SIL and go to the market next week as your OH is on holiday.

Emptybox

yes good idea for you to to be prepared with a special bottle, just incase, esecially if you are travelling that far soon. Glad you got a bit of work done.

I have been rushed off my feet, but managed to get VAT off to accountant today and just packed my bags. Daughter laughs I have to take 4 pairs of shoes, 4 tops and 4 pairs of leggings and we are only away for 2 nights, but to be honest I still have time to add a bit more into my bag yet.

Enjoy your visitors Emptybox.

I am apprehensive about leaving mum but she has the very best carers this weekend booked. Unfortunately tonight she gave me something unexpected to worry about, she had pain in her toes when carer took her sock/shoe off, looks like it is her toe nail causing it, so need to get a chiropodist sorted now.

On a good note we have a good forecast this weekend, fingers crossed they are right.

see you Sunday if I am back ontime.

M

Evening Both.

Took the lights back to the garden centre and had brekkie while we were there.

Have now fitted the lights on the gazebo, they were a perfect fit, the lights just reached around the 6 sides.

Moved a couple of the fruit tree tubs to give certain trees more room.

Repotted the Blueberry bush into a big tub.

Am going to get rid of the 3 gage trees i have, will get a Plum, Apple and Pear, not cordon, normal.

My baby Mango tree is lovely, the 6 leaves are growing by the day.

Will have to see if i can find out how to look after it.

Emptybox, it was cool here first thing as well, needed my jumper on as i'm in the garden at 7am for a walk around.

I defo think we should take a proper bottle with us in the car, in case.

When i was coming back from SIL's i was trying not to think of water etc, it would have set me off.

I'm still getting some blood now and again, i think it's to do with how and where i sit.

There wasn't so much blood last night overnight.

Still got some stinging but it's a lot better than the way i was.

I'm putting Win 10 in tonight, i told it Sunday but it wants to install it.

Might see you on the other side then.

Mollie, i am going to give it a bit longer, if the bleeding doesn't stop all together i'll have to do something'

We have a walk in surgery here.

Enjoy your weekend anyway, try not to wrry about everyone too much.

See you when you get back.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad your replacement lights were a success on the gazebo.

Hope the mango tree grows into something.

Hope the blood and the waterworks continue to improve.

You should probably make sure you are sitting well cushioned.

Lovely morning here, but got cooler and cloudy this afternoon. Probably better for working though.

Could have done with getting some jobs done tomorrow, but I can't with my visitors coming.

I'll just have to hope the good weather continues next week.

Good luck installing Windows 10. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Some people are having problems with the install, but I think it's going OK for the majority.

If you don't like it you have 30 days to roll back to what you had previously.

I'm going to wait a bit longer before I put it on my computers.

Evening Emptybox.

Pretty warm here today, sunny all day.

Went to do a shop from a local Sainsbury's, got some lovely food.

Put a Beef Brisket in the oven before i went, put the meat probe in as well, was going to take the meat out at 80deg but didn't get back till it was 95deg, but it was fine, i had put some stock and onions in with it so it didn't dry out, it was covered as well.

I went round the fruit trees with some 1ft pieces of plastic pipe 43mm dia, i put the pipe into the centre of the tub and fastened it to the handle.

It means i can feed the tree without taking the cover off.

The hose reel has a short hard half inch pipe on the end with a tap so i can insert the probe and turn on the tap.

I was awake in the middle of the night so went to the back window to see if the fairy lights on the gazebo were on, yes, looking good.

Windows asked when to install, i said Sunday at 7pm, later on it started a timer which had an hour on it and said did i want to start straight away or re-schedule, i said re-schedule to last night, but it didn't so i don't know what it is going to do now.

Hope Mollie is enjoying her time off away.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Visitors away now, and it was a fairly good day. Not all sunshine, but enough to make it pleasant outside.

I think they enjoyed their spag bol. Well, they didn't complain anyway.

My Brother's bought himself a motorbike, so he took away some of my Dad's old biking gear. The stuff that fitted him anyway. The jacket was too big for him, but the boots fitted, and gloves and protective trousers. He didn't take my Dad's helmet, as seemingly they only have a limited life before they become unsafe to rely on in an accident (5 years or thereabouts).

That was good, that your brisket was fine, despite being left in longer than intended. Hope it was nice.

That's ingenious the way you work out the watering system.

Well I hope Windows 10 installs fine, when it finally decides to.

Presumably you've got things backed up, and a way to return to the previous Windows if things go wrong (they shouldn't)?

Haven't watched much telly. When the visitors were here we had the telly on E4, with countless reruns of 'The Big Bang Theory'.

Evening Emptybox.

Win 10 should install at 7pm, but a feller in Oz that is on Twitter says he installed it and it started to install an update.

he posted this on twitter.

-----------------

When something can go wrong will! That's Murphy's Law. Upgrading to Windows 10 worked well till 1st update now in cyclic repair/restart

-----------------

Oh dear, doesn't sound good.

Maybe i should wait.

I wouldn't be happy for anyone to start going on the roads on 2 wheels, it's bad enough on 4.

I last rode on 2 wheels in 1959, and it was risky then.

A few rules that need to be taken, all leather suit, steel toecapped boots, leather gloves, a good helmet.

Always drive with dipped headlights, wear a helmet camera, keep to the speed limit as 2 wheels on the road are not good at stopping a motorbike.

And remember, motorbikes don't have steering wheels, you can't turn the handlebars on a motorbike, to turn you have to lean over.

The Brisket was great, still eating it, it's good for slicing thin for sandwiches.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Cooler here today. Dull and drizzly.

Glad you enjoyed the brisket.

Not sure why my Brother wants to take up motorcycling at his age?

His son (19) bought a bike, and perhaps he feels left out?

Yes, some have had big problems installing Windows 10, and others have had problems with the update that Microsoft put out to 'improve' it. But most people haven't found any problems, so it should be safe.

I'm hanging back myself though.

I have still got it installed in Virtualbox on Windows 8.1, and that didn't have any problems with the update, for what it's worth.

Watched the film 'Life of Pi' tonight. Was OK I guess.

Good Morning Emptybox.

Well, Windows did nothing, i think it's hung up, it never started and i can't get it to do anything now.

Ah well, not to worry.

Made a meal with some of the brisket last night, had some mash, got peas from the garden, used the stock i had made from the beef juices to make the gravy, very nice.

Watched Dragons Den last night.

Waterworks still a funny colour over night, as usual, it looks like 2 pints of cherry aid.

Got to take a trip to the recycle dump today to get rid of more rubbish.

Hicky

Evening Both.

Not a bad day really, a few showers here and there.

Removed the pea plants, getting the planning done for the next 3 trees, i might keep the 3 Gages yet.

Got the Foot person in the morning, while O/H takes rubbish to the recycle dump.

The Squirrel has finished the Strawberries off, am going to bin them in the next couple of days, waste of time.

Was going to order more Asparagus but they don't start delivering until March.

I will wait a bit before ordering my new trees, the pot grown are almost twice the bare root.

Hope Mollie not too Busy, she was coming back Sunday night.

Hicky

both

back again, got back lateish Sunday, so had lots to catch up with today. Went to Costco for a bit of shopping.

Hicky

I bet your gazebo looks nice now the lights are up.Sounds like you have been busy with your fruit trees. Cheeky squeerils nicking your straweberries. Hope the blood thing stops soon, but at least you are gradually improving. That is good you have a walk in surgery there though.

Emptybox

glad your visitors time appeared to go well and they enjoyed the spag bol.

Yes seems a bit strange why your brother would want to take up motorbiking now.

We had a lovely couple of days away, weather perfect, and lovely to spend time with OH's family. Mum was fine, out and about all weekend eating pasties, ice creams and chips with the caers. However the dog didn't fare so well. My poor son was so worried about her, she was ill, ate nowt for 3 days, was sick too, and barking and crying a lot of the time. He looked exhausted by the time we got back and of course the dog was a lot better by the time we came home, but was sick once more.
The b and b in the village was lovely, posh shower with jets and steam bit , even built in radio. We visited Betwys coed on the way there, Conwy castle too, and had a day in Llandudno with OH's cute 3 year old niece and her dad. So we could do all the kiddie stuff, like going round the amusements, on the little train and on the tramway up the mountain.

A long 4 and half hour drive, most of the way we had no phone reception at all, as it was so rural, sometimes no radio either.

didn't miss much on tv whilst I was away.

Goodnight both. xx

M

Hi both.

Funny sort of day. Some spells of lovely sunshine, but in between very blustery and cold showers.

Hi Hicky. Sorry your Windows 10 install didn't go to plan. Perhaps you should stick with what you've got for a while. Presuming that's still working OK?

There's no great advantage in having Windows 10, unless you want to talk to your computer (Cortana).

I'll probably upgrade my two Windows 8 machines eventually, but I think I'll just leave my Windows 7 computer as is. It's very nearly 10 years old anyway, and Windows 7 is supported until 2020.

That doesn't sound good with your waterworks. Perhaps you should check with your doc to see if that's expected this long after the op?

Good luck with the foot person tomorrow.

It's usually the birds that get to your strawberries. You must have an enterprising squirrel. Did you put a net over them?

Hi Mollie. Glad you enjoyed your time with your OH's family.

Must be very rural there if there wasn't even any radio reception.

Just a pity the dog was ill. Was that partly pining for you?

I can imagine your son was worried.

That's good that your Mum enjoyed pasties and chips as well as her usual ice cream only diet. A varied diet is always advisable.

I was trying to get an old stationary engine of my Dad's to start this evening, as we want to sell it to make more space. It's a Lister D and my dad did it up years ago. Unfortunately there seems to be something broken in it, as there was no compression when I tried to turn it over.

Took the top cover off, and one of the rods that work the valves is not connected and lying loose. Not sure if my dad took it off, or if moving the engine about has dislodged or broken it.

Unfortunately I couldn't work out how to fix it. Perhaps my Brother will have some idea. He helped me move the engine when he was here on Saturday, but we didn't try to start it then.

It'd make quite a bit more money if I could say it was in working order.

Perhaps some googling is required?

Evening Both.

Now on Windows 10, it went smooth

Good to have you back Mollie, Strange the dog falling ill while you were away, wonder what that was?

Glad the B&B was nice and you had a nice day out with O/H's Niece and her dad.

Waterworks are a lot better, hardly any blood now, it looks cloudy to me, now clear like it should be.

Emptybox, Windows came up and said it's time to install Win10, i decided to install in then as delaying didn't seem to go to plan.

It went in fine.

I've taken all the strawberry plants out as the Squirrel decimated them, won't bother next year.

Have positioned 3 new 50L pots in the garden and linked them into the watering system.

Just got to order the trees now, when i have enough money.

the foot nurse was ok, she only cuts my nails and tests for pulses and nerve endings.

Going to SIL tomorrow then on to get some food at a farm place, taking SIL some plums, cucumber, golden beetroot and spring onions.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

That's good that your computer survived the transition to Windows 10.

Are all you programs working OK?

Glad your waterworks are still improving. Are you getting more control now?

Presumably the nurse found all the required pulse and nerve endings in your feet?

Bit dull and cloudy here but reasonably warm.

Got a big strimming job done. Got right to the end, then the strimmer conked out and wouldn't restart. I think dirt might have got in the carburettor.

I'll try it again in the morning, just in case it starts OK from cold, but I think it's had it.

If so I'll need to buy another one pronto, as I've got other strimming jobs pending.

Enjoy your visit to your SiL tomorrow. I'm sure she'll appreciate the veg.

emptybox

both

Hicky

hope you enjoyed your visit to your SIL today. I bet she was pleased to see you especially with the veg. Glad the foot nurse went ok. I am having to get a chiropodist to see my mum as her toenail is overgrown and sore. They charge though, it is ÂĢ24. Glad your new windows thing went ok, and it is good news that the bleeding has finally stopped.

Emptybox

what a shame your strimmer played up, hope you got it sorted quick.

Any luck with the engine after a google?

Hot day today, haven't had many of these this year. So managed to get 5 washloads all nice and dry today.

When we saw the family last weekend, niece was playing Cinderella in the garden wearing her little pink tutu, and the rest of the family thought it real funny and appropriate too when she said to me and daughter, "I am Cinderella and you two can be the ugly sisters!".

Son just got his certificate for his Grade 3 in guitar, he was dead pleased because he got a distinction again. Only just he said though, he got 85%, and a distinctiion pass is 85%.   So good job he didn't get 84%.

Anyone watch The Great British Bake Off?  I enjoyed it last week. I bet Hicky would do good on this show.

have a good evening both xxx
