No - not a watch made from pollen - though i'm sure Apple are working on it

So ... my eyes have been dry n hurty whilst wearing me contacts for about 2 weeks - I put this down to the contacts being quite old so popped into Boots and got new ones.

No improvement  - which is odd

This morning - oh joy itchy throat ahoy!!!

A sure sign of hay fever season has begun for me.

Do you suffer?

*sits back - waits for "No I don't have hay fever - hope that helps" replies *

Meanwhile in Jesmond World - the expensive treatment seems to be working so far

I get Loratadine from the docs, a month's supply at a time cos I use them for hives on my skin too. They do just the same job

I received Fexofenadine cos the common or garden variety was having zero influence.

Apparently it is also available over the counter at ÂĢ15 a month!!!

Yeah, it depends on what pollen you're allergic to

I feel for you, I really do.

My youngest two kids suffer really badly with hayfever, in recent years i've been a crap Mum and not been on the ball. Both my (now) 6yr old daughter and 13 yr old son have been so bad their eyes look like they have been in a boxing ring!! (I have pics to prove it ) This year i have been a good Mum and i have had them both on their anti histamines for the past 2/3 weeks, they have had the odd sneezing fit but 100% better than before. so hopefully they wont flare up and end up needing eye drops 2-3 times a day on top of the anti histamines this time round.

Oh btw i have been told that eating locally produced honey form a hive in your area is supposed to help massively.... There is also aninjection you can get that a coworkers son has had and it's worked really well for him, might be worth looking into

WHAT !!!  INJECTION???  No thank you

I have heard about locally produced stuff - I could try that instead

OR just dope my self up on drugs  <<<<<< that one

Yes, that was being promoted by the bee keepers association.

Just pulling your leg Jen - I too have also heard that, a bit like people who are allergic to nuts, giving them really small amounts.

I used to have injections in March every week for six weeks when I was at school. Thankfully it's not that bad now but still enough to make me hate it. I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy

Thanx for the tip Sprout, I won't look into that for the kids then

Sorry Saint, but that's one of the things you have to get used to. It never completely goes away. All you can do is keep it under control in the months that you're affected.

Just think, if you weren't taking anything how much worse it would be. Although I still advise going to the docs and seeing what other medication is available. It's a case of trying different ones until you find the right one

PMSL!!!

And in my opinion....mine only, get better advice from the doc. I don't think it can be a good thing with your lenses if pollen is getting in behind them it might possibly be doing damage to the surface of your eyes?

Maybe that's why they are hurting as much
