Salmond out, Nicholson out, Robertson out, Sheik out!

There may have been some cheers from my house when Robertson and then Salmond went.

Oh and here!  Brilliant news that.    I don't think all the votes for Tories were to spite the SNP, and I know there have always been pockets of support for them in Scotland, but on the whole I think there was a LOT of tactical voting - nobody thought Labour could turn it around the way they did and it was rammed down people's throats by all the 'tactical voting' apps online that only a Tory vote could oust the SNP  (maybe if old Kez had shown a bit more faith in Jezza?) and imo if everyone voted with their heart instead of what they thought was their head, there wouldn't have been quite so many blue patches.    All in all though, I was very impressed with the showing and have a bit of hope now for the future (once the terrorist sympathising May (be careful what you accuse your opponent of if you're going to cosy up to undesirables yourself) has worked her notice ) - so I guess we're both happy!

PS   I may be responsible for SNP keeping their seat in NE Fife.    Colleague in the office didn't know who to vote for - never voted Labour in her life, has voted LibDem in every election ever (she's 60)   This time, she took me at my word when I said 'go on - if you're not sure give Labour your vote'  She did, so did her hubby and her sister.    I believe SNP held on to the seat by 2 votes....

Sorry!

Without doubt there was some tactical voting and I'm very grateful for it, especially if it makes Sturgeon rethink Indyref 2

So it's all your fault SNP held onto their seat in NE Fife!

one of the rare times I've actually agreed with a tory MP

Senior Tory MP: "We all f***ing hate her. But there is nothing we can do. She has totally f***ed us".

Oh and as for the DUP not wanting to blow people up...they are actively involved in terrorism...fact checked

and neither have the IRA since the Good Friday agreement which jeremy Corbyn helped secure Baz

This is Former First Minister Peter Robinson, who was DUP leader and Northern Ireland’s first minister until last year, and was an active member of Ulster Resistance, a terrorist group. he also smuggled arms and rocket launchers...it's completely hypocritical of the Tory party to join with them and there are many Tory voters saying the same as me.

that is where you are completely wrong Baz, I care not a jot who leads the Labour party as long as it's policies are based on Socialism... any left leading politician taking us away from neoliberalism would do.

The final election result has just been declared:

Labour has just taken Kensington by 20 votes. KENSINGTON!

Really does seem to sum up the whole election, doesn't it?

WOW !

One does get the feeling that there is a turning of the political landscape towards Labour.

The next 12 months will be interesting indeed.

Enthusiastic Contrafibularities

I don't agree with the DUP on anything, except their pro union stance.

However, I find it strange that some Corbyn supporters are more than willing to sweep under the carpet, his historic links/friendship with a terrorist group like the IRA (not forgetting his "friends in Hezzbulah") and paint him as some sort of saviour - while castigating May for making an agreement with the DUP which is a political party.

BTW Pirate, it's not a formal coalition.

Oh , that's what you were trying to do .....my apologies Pirate

Baz

So, after a good nights sleep ....a whole 7 hours ...it's unheard of ....my carefully considered points are these :

1. No matter how you cut it Labour lost their third election in a row....some 50 plus seats behind the Conservatives.....and quite frankly if they couldn't win after the truly disastrous Tory campaign ....promising everyone the earth.....and , as I keep being told .....7 years of dire austerity .....then quite frankly they don't deserve to be in power .

2. With regards to the DUP ....last time I looked NI was still part of the United Kingdom....their MPs were properly elected and .....as do Sin Fein (  although they choose not to) ....they have the right to sit in our parliament . So, TM is perfectly morally and legitimately allowed to canvas them for support .

3. Before anyone jumps on me about her hypocrisy in dealing with terrorists after all the jibes about Corbyn and the IRA....I would point out that there is a world of difference between talking to duly elected MPs since the peace process and actively being seen to be hob knobbing with them in the wake of bombings and while the militant wing of  their party was still effectively  calling for our demise !!

4. We aren't in a formal coalition with them ....any more than we are with any other of the various parties in parliament !
