I was thinking about pops y'day and was going to suggest a pen. I had one for Bramble at work when she was a puppy, it was brilliant, and I even fixed it to her crate so she could be in their if she wanted to retreat.

Sonetimes they find sanctuary in a crate, especially if it's got a blanket on top, they feel secure inside

Duds is on the plane!   He's very pleased with his premium economy seat....mainly because he got priority boarding and has been served alcohol before the rest of the passengers have even boarded.

He's certainly got his priorities sorted then

what time is he due home?

About 7am at Heathrow...then he has the drive home which is about 2-3 hours. He's gonna be a tired little boy when he gets home

Summer, how much did you pay for your doggy pen (if you don't mind me asking). There are a lot of options and I'm not sure how much I need to spend to ensure she can't just knock it down

If I remember correctly, I got it in the sale at pets at home and it was reduced from ÂĢ70. It's the big one though, rather than the one for smaller breeds, but I wanted her to have the most space possible. My friend borrowed it when her dog had 7 puppies and it held firm, it was pretty heavy.

It might be worth checking gum tree/eBay because a lot of people get rid of quality stuff after very little use. I paid full price for a crate, then bought a second hand one exactly the same for ÂĢ15! I kept one at work and one at home

Wow that's quite a journey! I hope the road is flowing smoothly and that he's stocked up on red bull. I'm glad you're not having to wait up all night for him

Hopefully he'll get some sleep on the plane. That's why he opted for premium economy for his return flight.... better odds of finding a comfortable position to nod off

Happy to help, good luck I hope it puts your mind at ease. Whatever you get, make it fun/positive for her to go in it. Throw her toy in, a treat, a blankie that smells like you etc

He'd be far too embarrassed to use one

All sorted. I've ordered the pen and a waterproof dog bed (for easy cleaning)....all being delivered on Thursday.

Thanks for your help Summer

It's going to be so handy! Even when I'm home and she doesn't need to be in it, I will be able to use it to stop her from getting stuck in her usual haunts ...like the TV cabinet.

That's brilliant, I'm pleased for you and that's only 2 days time too. I hope she finds it cosy and enjoys being in it
