Ben's Buddies

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, some rain overnight and some showers forecast for later. Looking at my very local weather site, 35 mm has fallen this month which, although useful, is below the average for this month. For instance that compares to the 70 mm which has fallen in the last couple of days in the south east where the May average is 50 mm.

Summer, I hope your day today isn't as hectic as the last two

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone, another lovely sunny morning.  I hope the blood tests are all OK Yogi.  I didn't fancy Redwater, although I do like the Kat & Alfie characters - well from when I used to watch Eastenders - but I thought it was probably too dark for me.

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle, I think Yogi is the one most likely to like Redwater as she really liked Borgen. It looks as if it will be dark but not as dark as Borgen and similar ones.

You are right El, I loved Borgen but, I didn't watch Redwater because it's years since I've watched Eastenders.

Thanks El and Squiggle, the blood test results should be back by Tuesday of next week. If I don't hear from the GP, I'll know everything is fine.

Good afternoon I hope you're all having a good morning. It's raining here but it's not cold.

Yogi I'm glad you got seen earlier and I hope the results are good

are Kat & Alfie still in eastenders too? I remember them from years ago but haven't seen the soap in a long time

Summer, Kat and Alfie left Eastenders in 2015 and returned for a very short time in 2016. There's nothing to suggest that they will be returning to Eastenders though that's always possible. Redwater is closer to a drama rather than a soap and apart from Alfie, she's being called Kathleen by everyone else. In Ireland the series is called Redwater.

Client sent me a Word document. It came in the form of a zip file and I think the cleint may use something like Open Office which does that with files. I happen to have the winzip program on my computer so it insisted on unzipping the zip file and the result was some 20 xml files which were meaningless. I eventually discovered that if I changed the suffix .zip at the end of the zip file to .docx it opened up correctly in Word. Problem solved though it took time. (I did ring the client but they were out and I wanted to make progress).

Good evening I hope you're enjoying gigglebox yogi

I've just had a loooooovely bath my book has gripped me, I can't wait for my next bath when I can read some more!

El, Redwater sounds like a fantastic project & opportunity for the actors and characters from eastenders. I hope it's a huge success

Sorry yogi, I got distracted! I have a friend/former mentor that I used to work for/with and we occasionally but regularly text each other pics that's basically just verbal abuse, but it's all harmless banter. I've been looking for some new material to send and found myself in a fit of giggles, crying with lol laughter!!!

i hope you have very sweet dreams I'm currently reading Erica James's "it's the little things"

Yogi, I hope the rain stops for you so that the electrical work can be done

Squiggle, thanks  My detective work was done as I wanted to make progress and couldn't get hold of the client.

The work got done, El.

You are our very own Mr Marple.

Any of you going to watch the return of Twin Peaks on Sky Atlantic? I've no interest in it which is just as well as I have Freeview. I saw next to nothing of the original though the music for the opening credits was as good as any series ever made.

I never watched it first time round and won't bother with this series either.

same here

Good morning everyone

The weather here is either:
thick snow and blizzard conditions
or:
wall to wall sunshine, pleasantly warm and hardly any breeze

Doesn't look as if you'll be staying up to 2 in the morning to watch Twin Peaks then

I hope everyone has a good day

Tomorrow a plaque will go up in Winchcombe (to the north east of Cheltenham) in memory of Christopher Merrett who was born there. In 1662 he wrote "Our wine coopers of recent times use vast quantities of sugar and molasses to all sorts of wines to make them drink brisk and sparkling and to give them spirit".  That's 35 years earlier than the monk Dom Pierre Perignon who discovered champagne.

In 1662 Christopher Merrett published Pinax Rerum Naturalium Britannicarum. That was one of the first lists of English flora, fauna and minerals but was the first to list British birds and butterflies.

Good evening I hope everyone's had a good weekend it's been a pleasant day here, I've been out walking with friends and then cut my grass. I've finally figured out how to lower the blades so I can take it down even shorter now

im just going to catch up on some paperwork and then I'll be back
