Good morning everyone, another lovely morning here.  Thank you Velvet I hope your weekend is a happy and blessed one.  Summer I hope you slept well and that you feel better this morning.  What a good plan Yogi to have your Dad on bramble watch, I'm sure it will be a fun outing.  Will you make jam do you think or pies and crumbles?  EL I'm glad your weekend is going well, enjoy those delicious cakes.

I had a much nicer visitor this morning.  A wild rabbit paid me a visit.  He hopped past very gracefully and very quickly, then he came back and we gazed at each other.  He nibbled on the grass, I nibbled on my breakfast cereal.  I wondered if he would venture onto the decking and he did, what a privilege to see a wild creature so close to me.  Very brave on his part because rabbits don't know about glass and for all he knew I could have sprung up and grabbed him, but I get the feeling that wild creatures know they are safe here.

Enjoy our day everyone

Good morning everyone.

A dry and bright start to the day.

El, we've had my dad on Bramble/blackberry watch on his daily walk and he has found us some good ones.

I hope Summer is feeling better today.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi Yogi

Well done to Yogi's dad for keeping an eye on the bramble/blackberry situation

Hope you and little ones have a supper days picking. I wonder how many will actually get home?

Moonie

Evening all.

Blackberry picking didn't go to plan. Plenty of them but most are just not ripe enough.

We headed off to an RSPB reserve instead, where the children were able to feed the swans and ducks. PB says to be sure to let Moonie know she fed the swans and one kept ducking his head into the water and sticking his bottom in the air, which she found hilarious.

No Summer, I hope she's not still poorly.

Good morning everyone

Very cloudy here and plenty of rain in the forecast.

Yogi, sounds as if you'll need to go back to the blackberries in a few days time. I hope PB in particular wasn't too disappointed  - she sounds as if she had a good time at the RSPB reserve

I hope Summer is feeking better - she did pop in here yesterday afternoon but didn't post anywhere.

I hope everyone has a good day

Hi Yogi

Bad news about the blackberry picking but great news about feeding the swans and ducks

The head ducking and bottom in the air is when the are seeking food on the bottom of the pool

Awwwwww that's lovely

They are very funny in some of the things they get upto

I am so pleased PB enjoyed herself

Good morning everyone.

Cloudy and overcast today.

Summer, good to see you back with us and I'm glad you're feeling better.

I like the idea of Squiggle as our very own Snow White.  I tried a type of meditation once and when I imagined my happy place, it was very similar to a scene from Disney's Snow White, with trees, flowers, butterflies and animals around me.

Moonie, you are right, that swan was after the food PB had thrown in, which was sinking to the bottom of the loch.

El, I hope you've had a good weekend with your brother.

Squiggle, I assume you've spotted on the Talking Pictures channel that they are having a season of Laurel and Hardy films during September. Today was Block-heads (1938), Monday 4th Pardon Us (1931), Tuesday 5th Pack Up Your Troubles (1932), Wednesday 6th Saps at Sea (1940), Thursday 7th Way Out West (and for anyone who hasn't seen their films, that's one of their best, probably the best comedy western made and includes the song Trail of the Lonesome Pine), Friday 8th The Bohemian Girl, (1936), Saturday 9th A Chump at Oxford (1940), Sunday 10th Swiss Miss. Some of them get repeated the following week including today's Blockheads on Friday 15th, they have Sons of the Desert (1933) on Saturday 16th and Our Relations (1937) on Sunday 17th. Gap the following week. Pardon Us (1936) on Tuesday 26th. On the night of October 1st/2nd they have Lucky Dog (1917) a short and the first time they performed together, That's followed by Flying Deuces (1939) then some home movies of them (that's already been shown recently).

Hi Yogi

They are funny on occasions. I find when I have fed them and I have no more food left, the male jabbers and clacks its beak just like he is asking me for more. So funny

One male did that to PB - he even climbed out of the water to follow us along the path.

yogi, your happy place sounds very happy, I like it. I always feel happy when I come on here too

sweet dreams all

Hi Sweet

Sounds like you're finally over your illness. That's good news

Moonie

Good morning everyone, a very good description EL, a grey and featureless sky, that is what it is like here too, even the sea is stone grey this morning.  It looks like a bleak Winter day, just the fast-fading foliage to strike a wrong note and give a clue to the actual season.

That is such a lovely feeling Summer, clean everything and it shows me more clearly than anything that you are over the cold now

Enjoy your day everyone
