Based on the Union flag, the eye features a number of iconic British landmarks, public figures and themes.

But what does it all mean for this summer's series? We can only wait for now, with Big Brother not back until next month (June).

When BBUK does return to our screens, a new look house will be ready for a the latest batch of housemates for the Channel 5 show, which will air its eighteenth series this summer

The Big Brother bungalow has been given a brand new design and makeover since the last Celebrity series in January, which was won by Coleen Nolan

Everything from the bedroom to the pool was pulled down and stripped bare as part of the major revamp

Auditions for Big Brother 2017 took place earlier this year, inviting only duos to apply in a first for the show.

Big Brother will launch on Channel 5 this summer with a launch expected in early June.

Well now; that in itself would normally be enough to put me off watching. Yet more manipulation and forced drama - whoopee.

Having said that: on the face of it, the report on Telemix seems more promising. As someone on DS points out, this is probably the first time in about 6 years that anyone from C5 has used the phrase "social experiment" in the context of BB.

Summer's Big Brother UK promises to be "the ultimate social experiment"

Without any apparent commitment to Live Feed, I expect I'll be doing the same as last year: watch the opening live with all you FMs, and make a decision then as to whether I'm going to stick with it. I'm not hopeful, though...

Same here, not just about LF but also because it's been so fake and formulaic recently.

If it's on at daft o'clock, then I'm likely to dip in and out, not necessarily with any conviction or enthusiasm.

You have to be enthusiastic - it's in your name

I have thought about it and I have decided to have a temporary name change to 'Unenthusiastic Confusibles' in 7 weeks time.

SPOILER

One has appeared on Pineapple Dance Studio

Another has appeared on Ex on the Beach

FGS !!!

So the advert goes "we have scoured the country, up hill, down dale, every city, every town, all welcome, we have been auditioning for pairs"

But we will still go out and find individuals who have already been on TV or wannabes, because we need and know the lowest common denominator will draw in the viewers - long live chav tv.

I'm going to give it a go - hopefully the advertising spiel about it being more like the social experiment it's supposed to be is true

Not holding my breath though...

Unfortunately it does not follow the financial model C5 have settled on. There is no money in it and they can't do all of the pre launch work with the contestants that is needed to exploit womens' magazines, tabloids etc. A 'spicy' backstory is now a requirement of contestants.

I suppose that's the case - but I did watch a reality show on C5 recently where they put young and old people in a house to see how they got along.. encouraged them to discuss different values etc - was BB-esque but they weren't totally cut off and there was only a minor flirtation between a couple of guys.  It was interesting - I liked it.  It gave me hope.  This hope will probably die in a few hours.

Now that is more like it and I would really put effort into BB if they went back to that model. Besides what I have said above the other major irritant for me is all of the external intrusion. C5 just can't help themselves.

What was the show, Kaffs?

Sounds like something I would watch, if they make another one.
