Unless you're from the NE of England you probably haven't heard about this story.

An elderly disabled gentleman from Gateshead was attacked as he was putting his bins out last weekend. A bloody disgusting act, by whoever did it, and I hope they are caught soon.

But since Wednesday when it was reported on the news, a fund was opened on a donation website to raise money for him. The link I am sharing is 5 hours old & the money raised has now doubled.

Just had another look and it's broke the 110k barrier. Wow

Wow indeed! That's brilliant. It even reached the national news this morning. They were interviewing the girl that's overseeing things and she's going to meet him at his sister's tomorrow.

They've had donations from all over the place, even abroad. I know Canada was one of the countries mentioned

I've just seen this on the North East News.   As I said previously....it just shows, a lot of people are not out for what they can get. I hope he's very happy (and safe) in his new home
